Please could a kind person have a look for these people in the 1851 and 1861 census :

James Walsh born.1832ish Occupation: Mariner/Able Seaman (He lived in Whitechapel, London - but might be at sea during the 1861 census?)

Peter Walsh born. before 1814 (he was the above mans father).- I know very little about him but he was a Confectioner and probably living in London.

Many thanks in advance (sorry if some of this is too vague!)
Sarah

Hi Mike,

Thanks for looking! That could well be him!

Does it say if he was married or not? James was married just a couple of weeks before the census, so I'm not sure if he would have been recorded as married or single.

Many thanks again,
Sarah

Hi Mike,

That looks very likely to be him then! His wife was Sarah Walsh b.1834ish Cripplegate, London - Just before the census she was living at 16 Greenfield Street, Commercial Road, Whitechapel.

Thanks again for your help,
Sarah
