Hi Yvonne

I have my tree on Ancestry.uk. I find it useful as when I find a census record I can attach it to the people so I know what my sources are. The hints it brings up can sometimes be useful too although sometimes, if they are from other trees, not so useful. One of them tells me one of my ancestors died in Peru! I don't think he ever left Shropshire!

Mmmm beginning to wonder--I thought ancestry would bring me quite a few xxx is also researching Joe Bloggs b. 1900 middle of nowhere ......
Yes , the info is good where census records are concerned --but just a back up of what we already know.

And as for those 'hints', make sure you research them before adding otherwise you might have people like me jumping 'down your throat' for marrying my sister to a man b 1723.
Some of the hints are utterly ludicrous.

You should definitely be wary of the hints on ancestry, someone has my grandmother in their tree, marrying her maternal grandfather who was dead before she was born. just one example of many ridiculous links people seem to have made!
