Hi Ally
I have tried to find out but it seems you need to know which court it was heard in!!!

This is the address you can try....

(from the national archives site)
"Indexes to divorce decrees absolute are held by the Principal Registry of the Family Division, who will undertake a search for a fee and provide copies of the decrees absolute if the divorce was granted in the High Court, or arrange for a copy to be sent to you from a county court. If you want to know the grounds for divorce you need to request details from the decree nisi as well."

Decrees nisi and absolute are held by the Principal Registry of the Family Division who will search them for a fee.

Principal Registry of the Family Division
First Avenue House
42-49 High Holborn
London, WC1V 6NP
Telephone number: +44 (0) 20 7947 6000

Depending on the date (and if it was in the supreme court - up to 1937 I think) you can search the index online at the national archives - search the catalogue, then put in j77.

Also findmypast have divorce index to search (pay to view) up to 1903 or thereabouts.
