Michael thanks. I'll have to get all my research out and do some sums! See if the head of household Thomas Stimpson age 51, is related to mine in Lincoln ( who were originally from Norfolk) Then I can tie them up. Thanks for all your help Carole

Oh Thanks Micheal, I see the birth was about right but how do you know they are the same person?

Thanks Michael it's not my family. Mine are in Lincoln. Sewells Walk is in Lincoln, so that interests me. The pension record mentions a son Harry born 1918 and Trish on here has him in her tree. I sent her a message. Hope she can shed some light on this for me. Funny it has never been in my hot matches may be there is no connection to my family. If not why did my grandfather have his medal? Unless William got Walters and V / V as Island says.

Hi I've seen that family Island, not mine i'm affraid. Just found in pension record he married Violet and they had a son Harry b1918. And a lady on here has him in her tree. So sent her a message.

Do you think it could be Walter Holmes Stimpson and not Helmer?

Island there is also a number on the rim. But I know what you mean. Posible that happened.

Michael just printed off the pension record it is the same number as my medal (6837). Cant find him in census though.

I have a medal which has on it's rim W H Stimpson. It was in my grandfathers belongings and passed to me. Grandfathers mother was Sarah Stimpson and she had a brother William Henry Stimpson so I thought it was his medal. Until I down loaded the medal index card for this number medal. It says it belonged to Walter H Stimpson but there isn't one in the family or else where that it could have come from. A Walter Stimpson was born in the family but died as a child. Stimpson is not a common name so I don't think he could have just picked it up!! Any ideas welcome thanks Carole
