I have a marriage cert. which gives me the details of "Residence at the Time of Marriage" as just Emmanuel. The marriage was1881. I have googled but been unable to find anything, can anyone help with just what this might be please.

I think you've asked this before.

I still think it just means they were both living in the parish of Emanuel - which would be the same as writing "of this parish" which is sometimes put as the residence on marriage certificates.

It is Camberwell Libby.

Yes Kathleen I have asked this before but hoped there would be another explanation as all my other certs. give the actual addresses of both bride and groom.

I have seen lots of marriage records which just give "of this parish" for both bride and groom. It is not unusual.
