Thanks for the extra effort Lisa. These are undoubtedly people from the same family. The Tiltons of Stormont, Cornwall, Ontario have been well documented but William seems to have dropped off the radar. He was just a labourer.

You may have seen this. Probably not your William, but since Cornwall was a small town, seems odd that there were two Williams:

PS Have you tried searching for him in Quebec; perhaps his parents families were still there?

It is for a child and has a line through.It states transfered to ???? two words I cannot read.

Catherine Tilton nee Stewart was deserted by her husband some time after her 1889 marriage in London, Ontario, Canada. The only record I have is a note from a family member saying, "separated from wife. Last seen heading East on a boat". I've just found this intriguing reference but I don't have an Ancestry Worldwide subscription to look it up. Could anybody tell me please what the entry says? I'm hoping it refers to William S Tilton born Cornwall, Ontario 1857.
