Two possible sources......

Birmingham City Archives but they appear to be closed at the moment.

Familia has the city library holding
"Name index to Apprenticeship Indentures, 17th-20th centuries" and they offer a search service for a fee.

If the apprenticeship wasn't arranged by the family but by the parish then there may be something in the Poor Law records. Alternatively an apprenticeship may have possibly been arranged by a charity if a family couldn't afford to pay the premium.

Could anyone advise how to obtain apprentice records for Dressmakers in the Birmingham area in1880-1912 please.
