If you put CWGC in your google search you can look for the brother who was killed...

Wonder if this is the parents' marriage?

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marriages Mar 1909 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HORTON Frederick Henry Birmingham 6d 215
PRICE Eleanor Birmingham 6d 215

but there is a Solihull marriage in 1910 for Frederick George to Winifred.

Can't believe so many Hortons married Prices!

Good luck

The girl may have been born before MMN was added to the index.

You need to find out the names of the parents........then look for their marriage.

As Reg says, have a look on FreeBMD. There are girls with the surname Horton and mother's name Price but in different areas, and as I'm not sure which areas are near to Aston, I can't be sure if any of them are "yours". There may also be more births on the complete index at a later date than FreeBMD covers.

Have you tried looking on freebmd?

The info posted above is all from that site..........or the Ancestry version..............

and this:-

Births Dec 1914
HORTON Frank B Price Aston 6d 754

and this:-

Do you know your grandad's date and place of birth?

If you can find his birth registration and he was born after 1911 then his mother's maiden name will be in the birth index. You could then look a few years either side of his birth looking for another Horton birth with the same mother's maiden name.

My grandad, Albert Horton, no longer alive apparently had a brother who died in the war and a sister who nobody ever seen due to medical conditions but no one in my living family can remember there names. I know their mother's maiden name may have been Price and their dad's was Horton, but this is al I have really. Any suggestions experts???
