Hi everyone, wonder if someone can help please. I have a print out of SS Friesland sailing from Liverpool August 11th 1909, to Philadelphia/Pennsylvania.On the list is my Ancestor Mary Ellen Hall born 1879 Halifax, father Sam Greenwood shoemaker Silsden Yorkshire, it has stamped on the entry October 21 1940 ? would anyone know what this means, the other person with her is Jack, does it say age 1 and infant please.

If it's a government document, this date could signify when it was due for destruction. Perhaps these were held for 30 years.

Hi Alistair, I have just seen two other dates which are Nov 13 1934 and August 23 1923, the writing is so small on the document that it is hard to see, I wonder if it's when their visa's run out, she would be 61.

Mary E is a housekeeper. I have no idea who John St Frank is, can't find anyone of that name. I think Jack is 6 months old not 1.

Thank you both for your print out's, I am working from a copy of the ships manifest sent to me via email and thanks to you I now know what it says.
I have worked out I think why all the different dates, October 1929 and October 1940 are the dates I suspect that her parents died and she came home for the funeral, I have yet to find any dates which match up.
Thanks again.
