I don't wear a lot of jewellery but if I had to make a choice it would be a ruby ring.

Apart from family & pets which item to you value the most in your home?

Devon or Cornwall in the UK. .....Menorca or Crete abroad.

What precious gem would you have set in a ring or pendant if offered as a gift ( money no object)...?

I like the one I have now, after working for 26 years as an accountant I have now retired and have more time for friends, hobbies etc. happily married with 3 adult sons and two beautiful granddaughters. We live 5 minutes away from the Swinley forest, part of the Royal estate with open access. Close to Sainsburys and within walking distance of Doctors and Dentist so the car isn't a nessesity although we use it for holidays and taking our pets to the vet.

If you could afford a holiday home where would you choose?

Last year we moved into what we think is our dream home. We love the space we have, the garden with the river at the bottom, the view, the area, the fresh food from the farm shops and we even get on well with all the neighbours. We liked London where we were before but it was crowded, noisy, rushed and constant traffic jams even starting a journey to get to the top of the road. We've been so lucky to achieve this particular goal.

What would be your ideal lifestyle?

My hubby and 2 kids:).. I do have a rather nice diamond ring tho .lol

Hubby just put a new shower over the bath, last week, but has lead him to thinking to taking the bath out completely as it's only me that uses it, that's when I have a bad back which is not often .

Do you own or rent your accommodation.?

Yes we have a large garden, loads of shrubs and perennials,
we always have bees and butterflies, but hubby still plants annuals in pots, plus planting a whole veg plot.( Red Poppies and Nasturtiums attract the bees good for fertilisation..)
Had kidney beans, broad beans peas and pots for tea .Have had 2 loads of beetroot , more to come and am awaiting the sprouting broccoli!

Do you have a shower or bath or both ( our shower is over the bath at the mo but hubby wants to alter it all !!)..?

Sleeping in my own bed. It's heaven to snuggle down.
Hate the unpacking and washing etc.tho
Glad you had a good time Di, despite the return crossing the weather's been bad here these last few days.

Do you feed the birds in your garden ?
I ask because I always did and then my neighbour found a rat climbing up his bird table !!!! So we've had to stop now.

Fiona Report 19 Aug 2009 16:54

Yes I go to the dentist every 6 months and then see the hygienist, I had really good teeth as a child but as I get older they have started to crumble, I have no other problems with them.

I see the optician every year in September just for a routine eye check and usually everything is ok,

How often do you get your hair cut?

Anne

Anne Report 19 Aug 2009 11:03

I have some very old decorative plates that belonged to my great grandmother but they could have come from even farther back, they are on display on the kitchen dresser. I would like an expert's opinion on how old they are. I also have an oil painting of my paternal grandfather
painted by my uncle who was a professional artist, I keep this on the wall in my study.

Do you have regular check ups with the dentist and optician ?
