it's absolutely goregous - been there a few times - love Bowness on Windermere in particular

I would love to go to Egypt, see the pyramids and visit the Valley of the Kings.

Well, when I win the South African Lotto, that will be my first call!! It has aways fascinated me.

My dream is for just one last time, to sit on the balcony of a cosy little tea house, next door to the glass house,which is situated in the Dandenons Mountain Range, just outside Melbourne,Australia. It was so wonderfully relaxing with a warm breeze,windchimes just tinkerling.With a pot of tea,scones,strawberry jam and cream, and talking to my sister, who now is seriously ill and i cant afford to be with her.My other dream is to be in an open top car driving down the Great Ocean Road and seeing the wonderful rainbow over the sea!
Just wishing and dreaming.

India and Nepal...................it's always been my dream.
My eldest son went 3 years ago and spent 3 months backpacking..............I was soooo jealous.

He met a 70 year old dutch lady backpacking with her granddaughters so I suppose there's still time to realise the dream!

My OH would like to go to Australia to see his brothers grave he saw him off in 1962 and he was in an accident that resulted in him being killed in 1974 His sister inlaw has also died now but he still has nephews and neices out there. I myself have no hankering to go anywhere in particular.

In February 2007 my son sent my wife and I on an adventure of a life time.,it lasted till 21st March.

We left Manchesterf flew to New York stayed in time square spent time at ground zero. Trump building Empire State building Statue of Libity. Flew on to Las Vegas stayed at the Luxor Hotel,flew up the strip at night. Next morning flight down the Grand Canyon for two hours. seeing the Hoover Dam etc Landed on a ranch with real "COWBOYS". Onto Hawaii Pearl Harbour, Waikiki beach Our Hotel room looked over the beach. Party night with dancers etc. Then to Sydney( I would go back again tomorrow if I could) Bondi beach, Cruise around The harbour Lunch in the Seafood Market. Best ever I have tasted.On to Borneo to see the Orang-utans and rain forests. Beijing (the great wall of China) Tian'anmen square , The forbidden City, so much to see in short time.Getting tired by now. but onwards and upwards.!!! Aggra (INDIA)Taj Mahal. Aggra Fort. then Dubai desert adventure with ~Bedouins and dinner camel ride and 4 wheel trip into the desert. went to the gold and spice souk. Never seen so much gold in my life. On to Cape Town (Wonderful place) would also like to return there. went up Table Mountain The Cape of good hope. Robben Island (Nelson Mandella) on to Cairo the pyramids of Giza the Sphinx Dinner on the Nile. Then back to Manchester and real life. I will never forget the ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME Hope I haven't bored the Pants of you.

oh my god Frank how lovely for you ah so wish i had some money to do even half of them. What was your favourite? may i ask.

Hi irishgirl. It was all great but I must say top of the list would be South Africa Cape Town (Sydney) Australia New York for the night life. I realise we were very lucky for my son to do this for us.

My sister in Australia was also in an accident, she was chasing a shop thief. She was knocked down on a crossing by the at the time M.D. of Ford Australia, who was American and had been drinking, and was shipped straight back to America afterwards.
She was in a coma for 2 weeks, and had steel plates in her head, both arms, both legs, her ribs were snapped. The doctors said she only survived because she had meat on her body. Since then shes had a rod put in her spine for support, otherwise it would collapse. Shes lived with bad pain all her life, and i dont think i shall ever see her again, shes just had open heart surgery, and is still in hospital after four weeks. A very brave woman, thats my dream to be with her!

Route 66..............with a stopover in every town!!

Margeret i am so sorry to read about your dear sister and i am sure you would love to be with her. I will say a parayer for you in hope that it wont be too long before you see her again.

Having read all these replies, what lovely places to visit! And Frank, how lucky you have been! Was it a special anniversary or something?

I too have been to Australia and loved it. Next time I would like to go to the Great Barrier Reef or Sydney. Otherwise, terrorists apart, I would love to visit India.

I visited South Africa as a child and that is also on my wish list.

Margeret a very sad story likewise my nephew was abroad with some mates very sensible guy a fight broke out and another guy kicked my nephew's face in he had to have his nose rebuilt etc. Dont think he will ever get over it. In fact the surgoen said his face nearly collapsed and the had to put pins in. He is ok now thank god, but sees it every time he looks in the mirror.
I do feel for you.

The trip we had was a gift from a loving son and his partner. I had a stroke in march 2004. It left me with a weak right side and a bad temper (it happens to people after a stroke) in Jan 2005 they took my wife and I on a Carribean Cruise. Fly out to Costa Rica had a 10 day cruise with outside cabin with balcony.. He has a very successful business and shares so much with His Mum and me (STEP FATHER) Holidays most years to the Algarve, Malta, Cyprus, Spain. Best Villas 4/5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms Swimming pool Maid service. etc. He says its his way of thanking us for his happy childhood and our love for him. and his love for us. What more there is in life than love, I don't know !!!!!

Hes one of the best. He lives 50 miles away and tries to get to see us once a week. His partner comes over and takes the OH shopping. We are all going to his for XMAS. We will go up on the 22nd Dec. my 70th birthday and stay till New Year.His brothers Family will be with us for Christmas day. Gfrea--------t
