aah Hissing Sid. Who could ever forget?
Here's an abstract from the poetry of Leapy Lee
Little arrows in your clothing Little arrows in your hair When you're in love you'll find Those little arrows everywhere Little arrows that will hit you once And hit you once again Little arrows will hit everyone Every now and then
This kept Hey Jude off the top of the charts!

I could start dreamin but it never ends As long as youre gone we may as well pretend Ive been dreamin Straight from the heart
You say its easy but whos to say That wed be able to keep it this way But its easier Straight from the heart
Give it to me straight from the heart Tell me we can make another start You know Ill never go As long as I know Its comin straight from the heart
Ill see you on the street some other time And all our words would just fall out of line I was dreamin Straight from the heart
Give it to me straight from the heart Tell me we can make another start You know Ill never go As long as I know Its coming straight from the heart
Give it to me straight from the heart Tell me we can make one more start You know Ill never go As long as I know Its coming straight from the heart

Turned on the radio Sounded like a disco Musta turned the dial for a couple of miles But I couldnt find no rock n roll
This computerized crap aint gettin me off Everywhere I go the kids wanna rock London to l.a. Talkin bout the new wave For a couple of bucks you get a weird haircut And waste your life away
Around the world or around the block Everywhere I go the kids wanna rock Get me my d.j. I got somethin hes gotta play Wanna hear it I cant wait So turn it up, turn it up...
Kick down the barricades Listen what the kids say From time to time people change their minds But the music is here to stay
Ive seen it all from the bottom to the top Everywhere I go the kids wanna rock
Around the world or around the block Everywhere I go the kids wanna rock
Everywhere I go the kids wanna rock

Here's one from the 70's. just listened to it and it's got my hips a swinging. Hubby and i are supposed to be going out next Saturday with a couple of friends, they are taking us to a club in stafford that plays 60's and 70's music, I can't wait to go and dance how we used to when we first got together. hope they play some Northern soul as well.

ONE OF THE ULTIMATE 80S CLASSICS IMHO
can't fool myself, I don't want nobody else to ever love me You are my shinin' star, my guiding light, my love fantasy There's not a minute, hour, day or night that I don't love you You're at the top of my list 'cause I'm always thinkin' of you
I still remember in the days when I scared to touch you How I spent my day dreamin' plannin' how to say I love you You must have known that I had feelings deep enough to swim in That's when you opened up your heart and you told me to come in
Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never too much I just don't wanna stop
Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much I just don't wanna stop
Too much, never too much, never too much, never too much
Woke up today, looked at your picture just to get me started I called you up, but you weren't there and I was broken hearted Hung up the phone, can't be too late, the boss is so demandin' Opened the door up and to my surprise there you were standin'
Well, who needs to go to work to hustle for another dollar I'd rather be with you 'cause you make my heart scream and holler Love is a gamble and I'm so glad that I'm winnin' We've come a long way and yet this is only the beginnin'
Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never too much (Never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop
Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much (Never too much, never too much, never too much) And I just don't wanna stop
Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never (Never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop
Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much
OFF TO SEE MY REAL LIFE BRYAN ADAMS lol
Nite all xx

An underated song in my opinion..........of the 70's
Surfs Up
A diamond necklace played the pawn Hand in hand some drummed along, oh To a handsome mannered baton A blind class aristocracy Back through the opera glass you see The pit and the pendulum drawn Columnated ruins domino
Canvass the town and brush the backdrop Are you sleeping?
Hung velvet overtaken me Dim chandelier awaken me To a song dissolved in the dawn The music hall a costly bow The music all is lost for now To a muted trumpeter swan Columnated ruins domino
Canvass the town and brush the backdrop Are you sleeping, Brother John?
Dove nested towers the hour was Strike the street quicksilver moon Carriage across the fog Two-Step to lamp lights cellar tune The laughs come hard in Auld Lang Syne
The glass was raised, the fired-roast The fullness of the wine, the dim last toasting While at port adieu or die
A choke of grief heart hardened I Beyond belief a broken man too tough to cry
Surf's Up Aboard a tidal wave Come about hard and join The young and often spring you gave I heard the word Wonderful thing A children's song
Child, child, child, child, child A child is the father of the man Child, child, child, child, child A child is the father of the man A children's song Have you listened as they played Their song is love And the children know the way That's why the child is the father to the man Child, child, child, child, child Child, child, child, child, child Na na na na na na na na Child, child, child, child, child That's why the child is the father to the man Child, child, child, child, child

Hi Joy
One of my abiding memories was Liveaid and the Cars "Who's going to drive you home", which was used as the background music to the most disturbing pictures of famine torn Africa. I think I'm right that the royalties were donated to Live Aid.
In particular, I remember the lines " who's gonna plug their ears when you scream" and the images that went with them.
I know it pricked my conscience (and my wallet).

How about this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72mG9Ydd72I
Here I stand, here I stand, Look around, around around, around, around But you won't see me Now I'm here Now I'm there
I'm just a ....
Just a new man, yes you made me live again.
A baby I was when you took my hand, and the light of the night burned bright. The people all stared, didn't understand But you knew my name on sight.
Whatever came of you and me? America's new bride to be Don't worry babe I'm safe and sound Down in the dungeon just Peaches and me ... Don't I love her so, 'cause she made me live again.
A thin moon me in the smokescreen sky, Where the beams of your lovelight chase. Don't move, don't speak, don't feel no pain, With the rain runnin' down my face.
Your matches still light up the sky, And manay a tear lives on in my eye. Down in the city, just Hoople and me ... Don't I love him so ... Oooh don't I love him so.
Whatever comes of you and me, I'd love to leave my memory with you ...
Now I'm here, now I'm here, Think I'll stay around, around around, around, around Down in the city just you and me ...
Don't I love you so ...
(Go, go, go little greenie ...)
Greatest band I ever saw in concert, Sheer Heart Attack probably their best album. Love it-love it-love it!

Funny you should say that Joy. I was thinking about Alison Moyet and Paul Young doing That's the Way Love Is. two of the most under rated voices.
And Jagger/Bowie Dancing in the Streets. Middle aged men with class
