Odd that all electrical equipment seems to have gone wrong while Daff is away! Sure Daff wasnt angling for a new kitchen? Hope she approves of your choices!
Such good news that there are some improvements in her condition. When she takes a turn for the better she will come on by leaps and bounds. Will keep on urging her to improve.

Thanks for the latest update Mr.Daff, things certainly seem to be happening now. Do hope the plans for tomorrow go well and Daff continues to gain strength.

Good news about the swelling in Daff's throat going down.

We (Daff's Army) will continue to send positive thoughts and will be marching at her side, always ready to do battle against 'the bugs'.

I am sure you are kna.. emmn tired Mr D it's sounds as if you have too much happening at once. hope you can have a good nights rest.

Well, here's how today went:
1. Stable still, but arm movements were in danger of prematurely removing the ventilator line, so sedation was upped a bit !!!
2. Physiotherapist, when clearing fluid on the lungs, was not happy with 'texture and colour', so sent residue for culture - result - Daff now on specific anti-fungal meds, and with overall reduction of infection (from blood tests), this will hopefully clear that area.
3. Swelling in the throat has reduced sufficiently for Doc's to carry out trachy tomorrow, as long as the right platelets are availabe (there weren't any of the type Daff needs 'in stock' today. They will have to be ordered from the blood bank in the morning).
4. Continues to respond to verbal requests/question when the sedation wears off a bit, and her temp is behaving. BP and heartbeat still erratic, but that can be dealt with in slower time.
5. Unlikely tmw, but poss on Friday she will be able to speak......then my life ends as we know it..... ;o)
6. Still in ICU, so a little way to go yet, but at least it's been a step forward.
Daff is convinced the 'positive thoughts' work, so thanks to all for this; we will see what the morrow brings!

(who is knack...d having been on the go since 0630 in prep for 'the men' coming to take away the recently departed fridge, freezer and cooker...sigh! And 'negotiating' the return of the 'new cooker' to the seller coz it's damaged (electrical, but nothing to do with fuse, by the way) is proving 'interesting' - anyone live in Huddersfield perchance??? Don't answer that !!!
