Afternoon Daff, Mr Daff and squad,
So sad to read that Daff is back in with a high temperature. I am sure they will find a suitable antibiotic to sort it out, then it will be onwards with the treatment.
I am not guilty pinching parachutes. I don't like silk bloomers, only good old M & S white pure cotton fully fashioned down to the knee. Got to keep my nether regions warm.
Been out for a lovely, nay elegant, Sunday lunch with a group of the family, at a stately home turned into a conference centre. It was lovely but I now want to curl up on the settee with a throw. Shame Daff is in isolation or I could have snuggled down in her room.
Love to all, Elisabeth xx

Sorry Daff is confined to barracks.
If you're looking for lost parachutes may I suggest close examination of BC's bloomers? But not too close.
Give her our love.

Oh R how annoying, and Daff was so upbeat too. Horrible to be in isolation for so long she will be sooo bored, well once she feels a bit better she will. Was she able to take in her laptop I wonder? I suppose no remote is so no bugs???
How could I forget Pennsylvania 6500?
Please when you are able to speak to Daff give her my love.
BC so that is where you got those gorgeous bloomers.

Mr Daff, how worrying for you and all of us. Such a short time home too. Hope and pray everything turns out OK. Girls, you forgot Benny Goodman , the James brothers orchestras, Yes, orchestras in those days, not your common or garden bands. Dont forget some corned beef sandwiches for a change, and bloater paste. Making myself feel quite hungry! And the very thought of Moonlight Seranade gets my feet twitching. Dont forget to sew a band of ric-rac braid about 6 inches above the hem of your skirt. Can see myself watching big sister getting ready for a dance. Hair waves all brilliantined in. California Poppy perfume behind the ears.

Sorry to hear that Daff is back in hospital sending hugs etc to her and hope the temperature goes down soon.
I have been on riot control manoovers as my 2 gr/sons are having a hate everything day and are bickering over everything and anything grrrrr.
Sometimes they can be very hard work lol.
It's very chilly here today so glad no gardening manoovers have to be done just the sipping tea ones now.
Hope you will be feeling better soon SM Daff and thank you for the updates Mr Daff.

Thanks Mr Daff and sorry Daff's brief homestay is over. Our love to her,as ever.
Good list, Beverley, a little heavy on the spam yuck, but not bad. *stares suspiciously...you sure you were not there?? lol .. oh and maybe Mr D will do the line down our legs? I am sure Daff wont mind:-)
Am watching footie and dusting...dog is flat out. As it is her 12th Birthday today I gave her a treat and let her off the lead (she is a notorious runaway)...well at least twelve people tried to capture her but she wouldnt be caught. Three hours later..*puff....I lured her into the Ladies loo in the park and shut the gate...Bingo! I then sang Happy Birthday to You and got some funny looks.
Have a good day everyone. XX BC

Hi Daff and Mr Daff.
Thanks for the update and sorry it's not better news.
Parachutes? Innocent m'lud. I bought these silk undies for M&S - honest!!
Mau - yes, sorry, my mistake. I checked with OH (He's a lot older than me) and he said 40's but it improved in the 60's.
So, I think we need to make sure we have everything at hand for this party, Here's a roll-call
Aircraft hangar Spitfires GI's para - er - silk undies brooms (for jitter-bugging) Music (Glen Miller and Vera Lynn) Pineapple and cheese on tin foil hedgehog Gravy browning Spam Fritters Spam Sandwiches Spam and chips Spam and Spam Lots of hairspray (or anything else they used then) Some glitter because this is Daff's Army
Now, have I forgotten anything? *ponders*

I hope your temp soon comes down Daff and that your back on track , I don't like thought of you being in solitary at all , have you got a baseball glove and a ball with you to pass the time ? If you have you could always chuck the ball at the TV in the hopes of it turning over the channels.....lol
Thinking of you xxxx

Afternoon all,
Afraid it's me again - Daff was admitted last night with high temperature caused by an infection. So she is in 'isolation' and will be in hospital for up to 5 days....in a room occupied by....just her !! Oh, and a TV with no remote, apparently !!
Pennsylvania 6500
And BC - that broom needs a trim ! Perhaps a GI No.2 ???? Also heard that the RAF are investigating the 'loss' of a number of parachutes...don't suppose anyone knows anything about that ???
Cheers for now!

Morning Daff, Mr Daff, pudder-cats and troops
Was jitter-bugging around in the 40's? I thought that was the 60's. I can't swear to it as I wasn't around either in the 40's and only just remember the 60's. But, if BC wants to jitter-bug with a broom who are we to stop her.
Can we also have some Glen Miller music? In the mood, tuxedo junction (I can't remember any more).
I'm really looking forward to this party so hurry up and get yourself sorted Daff. All we need to do is find a nice hangar somewhere with a couple of spitfires lurking in the corner (sorry, am I getting carried away?)
Take care everyone Beverley

Morning SM Daff and troops,
Just popping in to report for duty later. I shall go and get dressed in a moment, ready for going out for lunch. I'm waiting for a bathroom to be free.
Hope Daff and Mr Daff have had a good night, and that the troops are keeping dry in this wet weather.
I have visions of BC with dyed legs with a spider's web of lines down the back of her legs. (I don't remember the painting of legs, but do remember the problems of getting the seams of stockings straight. Thank heavens for tights!)
Have a lovely day. Elisabeth xx

Morning Daff and troops:-) Nice day here, quite warm. Am steeping my legs in warm tea as I type as I think we should look authentic for the Spam Party; then I have to draw a line down the back of legs which might not work as am a bit jittery this morning. *waves Sunday bloomers at Gwynnie....
Hope you slept well, Daff and Mr D is peeling you grapes:-)

Morning Troops Are you getting plenty of rest SM Daff?
I was at a county show yesterday and finally managed to get some very smart wellies. They are pink and blue a sort of tartan, they should go well with the pink cowboy hat !!! Oh and they have a small heel, just right for me as I don't wear heeled shoes.
Have a good Sunday everyone
Linda :o) XxX
