hope daffs tests went well today and her veins behaved :-P

iv sneaked away to my brothers for a few days, he isnt here hes in mexicoo, looks lovely of the pictures hes been showing us, but littleman loves his apartment as its top floor with a balcony and all the latest boy toys "gadgets" me i struggle to turn his oven on it has so many touchscreen thingamebobs, but we wont starve he has a microwave lol,

Daff seems well apart from the missing years of memory

How spooky....just yesterday I sent Daff a card with two funny photos of my little grandchildren. She may or not remember their names but I thought it might amuse her..Thank you Sueping, for keeping us in touch. BC XX

Yes it makes sense, I did write her a letter some time back but, of course, never knew if she got it. Also if I send a card I always attach my photo. But I will go back over the time she visited and write her a letter, including photos and see if it helps her at all.

Hello Ann,

Gwyn is in touch and it's letters that help Daff as she can keep referring to them. Photos are great because they help with putting names and faces together.

A few weeks ago Daff said she couldn't remember meeting me, the next week she could again - the brain has strange workings :-S

I just accept everything as it is and as long as I can make her laugh I am content with that.

When I introduce people into conversations I leave it to Daff to ask questions she is comfortable with, that way I hope I don't stress her too much.

I suppose Sue, Daff thinking so much in the past is her way of trying to grasp 'the next bit'. Does it help if somebody tells her about a part of her past? i.e. does it sometimes jog a memory maybe? If so maybe Gwyn, who spent some time in Cyprus with her could provide a few memory jogers. Although that is also when the children were young.

I have some photos I took when Daff came to me for a pre Christmas lunch in 2009. Would they help if I said what we chatted about etc? It was wheen she had her new camera so I know what the conversation was about.

Or a couple of photos of when we went to Kim's for Dizzi's birthday and CarolB was there?

Sorry this update is a bit late we have been blitzing the top floor guest room :-0

Had a very long chat with Daff on Saturday, sadly it was one of the days when she was in repeat mode . She is desperate to fill in the missing decades and finds it all quite distressing.

As you know I go with the flow during the chats and so happily listened to her talking about when the children were young. It's part of her condition that she finds extremely difficult.

I passed on everyones' love and best wishes for which she truly thanks you.

R is still doing sterling work and had last week as holiday as little'un was with them, she went back home on Sunday.

Daff is due in clinic for more blood tests tomorrow so please all keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully when I phone her next weekend she will have overcome this blip and concentrate more on the present :-)

still busy decorating
its doing my nut in now but i can see an end to it soon
just the stairs to finish and paint the bathroom
and then have my new fire fitted
then i can relax and sort my front garden out at leisure
