Hi Allan - we nearly did that with a hall table. Fell in love with it and came so close to buying it but OH thought it wouldn't fit in the only place in the hallway it could go. He dashed home and measured the space and sure enough it was too big. We were disappointed but glad we didn't just buy it. |

Berm - this is a grassey piece of land between the footpath and the kerb. It is council owned but the majority of property owners mow theirs when they mow their front lawns. Not every property has one. In our street we have berms on both sides of the street and each area between driveways has a council planted tree as well. |

How spooky, we have just been out in the garage looking at the wormery Tec OH finished making the frame for it last week, but the worms didn't seem to be doing anything. When we looked this afternoon, they were much more active and trying to climb out They were wiggling away nicely now, presumably because it is warmer. |

What a shame about the Kilner jars, Sue or I would l have made good use of them Of course the postage would have been prohibitive |

Linda I don't know if I mentioned it but OH finds the little darlings like it if you put their food through a food processor/blender. OH has a small cheap blender that is just used for his worm food. Of course he gets teased about pampering his worms but they sure are healthy. They are definately more active in the warm weather. Google "worm farms" to get loads of info. Our local council has a course on worm farming every now and then as does a nearby garden centre. By the way - I've sent you a pm. |

My OH is the one that can't judge measurements - he will say that won't fit and I will say yes it will and vice versa. Just a knack I guess - the only thing I ever topped at high school was geometry, I absolutely loved it. My testimonial when I left school states that I only worked hard at what I liked. |
