I'm still hanging about Allan, just.

I've lost track - are you still working at the Council?
can't remember what you said now.

Not working at the moment Tec,

I have offered to do a medium contract with my old council, Dardanup as they are having a few staff problems, and other issues.

I have said that I am prepared to work for a year or so, three days a week until they can sort themselves out.

I may hear something this month!

Sue - good luck with that. There's always one isn't there? I had one who had to make a lot of phone calls and was reimbursed by the club's treasurer. This man made all his calls from work, then claimed for far more than he made - and pocketed the reimbursement! Hope you sort it out.

Good night Brits. Enjoy your day Australasians. I'm off to the doc again to leave a little blood with her for comparison to last time. Talk to you again later.

Goodnight Pat, sleep well,
Bye Berona, Don't give them too much blood, precious commodity.

Allan, Three days a week is quite good if you do it, kind of eases you into full retirement. I think that is better than everything stopping suddenly.
Though I expect you have enough to occupy you.

Tec

Yes Tec, OH makes sure that I keep occupied!!

Tecwyn Report 18 Jan 2010 23:06

I know that feeling Allan lol - I've never been lost for something to do, but I've never been able to sit about during the day, now I make a rule - regardless of what's to be done, I now do absolutely nothing on Sundays - I read the Sunday papers, work on my tree, and cook dinner,
my lazy day

Well,as it's time I went to bed, I must away,
so talk to you tomorrow Allan - Enjoy your day

Good afternoon Aussies and Kiwi's:-)

I suppose that leaves me on the night watch for our sleeping beauty's:-)

Allan, your description of your doctor made me laugh!!

Janet, I also had to pick up the children's School books this morning:-)) One's in year 8 and the other is in year 11 - I should have taken a wheel barrow along, they were so heavy!! I'll miss them when they go back, but the plus side is that my car will have a rest!!

Sue, that's a tricky task you've got to perform today - people do take advantage regardless of where they work.
Is it this weekend that you are coming down to Victoria for the wedding? If it is, the weather should be nice and warm. Usually on the coast it is much cooler, so it should be nice:-))

Diane, you are a girl after my own heart, LOL - you hang on to that noise meter for as long as you can, if they come knocking at your door, just make out you're not at home. Hopefully you can keep it for a couple of weeks:-))))
That's sad your son is flying the coop:-( We must allow them to spread their wings and make their way in the world!!!

Linda...You will love Mexico, a friend of mine went there last year with her family. They had a fantastic time there and cannot wait to go back.
So glad you finally got on to your travel agent:-))

Hello to Tec, Berona, Persey and Pat and anyone else that drops in:-))

Our day is gorgeous down here, today:-))

Hello Ali Cat. We think about you often:-))

This morning has been difficult because I've had to go through a number of records, do some sums and decide if there are any discrepancies. There are numerous ones. What to do?

Alison, Lovely Lady, fantastic to hear from you.

We all hope that it will not be too long before you are back to being a regular poster, but in the meantime, if you do not feel like posting, please let your son tell us how you are keeping>

Sincere Regards

Carole, I have made my GP sound like a cross between an ogre and a wicked witch.

She is actually a very good doctor, and her concerns for my health are genuine...at least she takes the time to talk.

Also, I was able to help her when I was working, in setting up a Practice in an area where the planning laws did not permit.

Funnily enough ever since then I have been bulk-billed!!

Sue, ask for a full explanation of the discrepancies, in writing. If you don't and an external audit is carried out, you could also be called into question and seem to be sanctioning what is very basically fraud.

My apologies for being so blunt!

Allan is right Sue - you have to be squeaky clean you do not want to be seen as condoning anything in the least bit fishy.

We had a tax audit when I owned the shop and one of the questions we were asked was why did our takings appear different from other secondhand bookshops - we did not know what others declared - but we just said all ours are straightup and there are no under the table goings on. We did not know whether we declared more or less income from the business than others, but we do know that when we purchased the business the person before us kept two sets of books. My OH is a member of the Society of Accountants and we would not do anything to jeopardise this.

It can be difficult if they are friends etc but sometimes with apologies to John Wayne:
"a woman's got to do what a woman's got to do"
