I think I told you that I had my roof insulated under the Govt. scheme, but although the man who quoted, told me my garage would be covered, it was only last week that my son had a look and told me there were no batts in the garage!
I went into the website of the Dept. of Environment and filled in their email form advising this - no answer. So, I wrote a letter to the people who did the work and told them that I had a letter to answer from the Govt, but before I do, I'm giving them the chance to 'finish the job'. Only mailed the letter yesterday, and to-day have received a call from them to advise that someone would be out to measure up! I couldn't believe the service!!!

LOL Perse good idea, but it would frighten my poor cat hun.

Sue I didn't know about your grand-daughter, a lot of Down's children do very well these day's as we understand the condition a lot more today than in my childhood, a lot of them go to main stream school and can do as well as the other children, (some do better). when I was about 12yrs I visited a council run day centre for Down syndrome children and got upset when I saw one little girl tired to a chair, they said she kept hitting and biteing other children and that was the reason she was tired in the chair, me being me spent a lot of time with her and found all she wanted was one to one attention which I gave her, after about a week she wasn't being tired to the chair anymore and the staff were amazed at the change in her. I think today they make more of an effort to find out what the individual need's of each child is so that they understand them more, your daughter and yourself sound as though you have done exactly this and have encouraged her to do what she doe's best.

Goodnight Linda sleep well and warm.

Bye Perse enjoy your shopping trip.

Today I heard that my eldest grand-daughter has had to go into hospital and have a operation on her foot to remove some glass. She had a party last Friday to celebrate her 16th birthday, toward's the end of the night she stood on broken glass, when I spoke to her on Saturday I advised her to go to the hospital to have it looked at, her reply was my dad reckon's there is no glass in it and I'm all right. She then spent Saturday and Sunday limping around till eventually today she decided it was neccessary to visit the hospital, and yes I was right there was glass in the wound and had gone further into her foot hence the reason for the op. Why don't kid's listen when you give them advice dah.

That's rotten luck for your grand daughter Diane - she should have listened, but at that age they know best don't they.

Hello just dropped in to say a quick hello, seems no one has been in through out the day.

Sue and Persey.. Ive just had a little look at Maldon, I have an Aunt that lives about half an hours drive from there. It looks like a really nice place:-) Tec, there is a Welsh church there, though I cannot tell you anything about it, I think I just may have to take a drive up there and have a look around. It would probably be about an hour and a half's drive from where I am. Its also not far from Castlemain and Bendigo!!!

Ive had a fairly quiet day today, We have got landscapers in to build some retaining walls in our garden, they started work today. Hopefully it will be finished before the weekend:-)

Well, I'm off to the land of nod:-))
Sweet dreams Aussies and enjoy your day all others:-)

Good Evening/Morning,

Where has everyone gone?

Hi Carole,
Interesting that you have a Maldon near you. There is a little town of Maldon in Essex in England, I know it well, and my paternal grand parents lived near there. I know there are many places in Australia with the names of places in the UK. Maybe the early settlers named places after where they were from.
The Welsh church sounds interesting - most likely a chapel, rather than a church. There are Welsh chapels to be found all over the world, wherever the Welsh settled in any numbers. Mostly non-conformist, as many Welsh people refused to follow the established Church of England.

Today the Duchess took possession of her very own laptop, on the basis of if you can't beat them - join them. So I have been busy giving tuition. She used a computer when she was working, but things have moved on a bit since then. I think the one she had was pedal power, and I knew very little about them in those days, now things have reversed, so I can teach her what little I know.........which isn't much.

Good morning/evening all. Hope you are all well.

Tec - I'm sure our Duchess will learn quickly. OH has his laptap which I use on occasion but this one is the main one that I use for doing family history, work and photos. The monitor came out of the ark but our son has just offered us his flat screen monitor as his computer is on it's last legs and he intends to buy a laptop. So that's 3 computers in the house.

Hi Sue,
Until recently I had three computers, screens, printers etc, so decided to have a clear out - one was thrown out, another was given to the children up the road, and now I have just one set up, and a laptop. plus more space in my room upstairs where they all were with my books. I seem to only use the laptop now.

Good morning, Sue

Good evening, Tec. Good on your OH for keeping up, Tec. Perhaps it's the Duchess's way of telling you that you hog the main one !

OH and myself work in shifts on ours. I use it when downloads are more 'cheap as I download photos etc. OH who mainly does text type work does this when downloads are more restricted.
