You fellers make me laugh. Typical males. You like to give the impression that it's only honour which keeps you home - and that you could not be tempted by a big busty blonde. Ha, ha!

That's playing it safe.....You know darned well that no big, busty blonde would be interested in tempting you!!!.....Dream on!

Berona Report 20 Jan 2010 23:21

I forgot to add - you also know that you couldn't get better than what you already have, but go ahead - let your imagination run riot!

Berona...How well you know us ;0))

Which is why my OH falls about laughing and saying..."She's welcome to you"

Really destroys a man's confidence!

Hello all,

Berona - I hope you get the lowdown on what is going with your legs once and for all from your doctor.

Tec - we have an advert on TV here where the daughter is always texting and the father texts her from the kitchen across the room to the lounge to tell her Dinner's ready. I have no idea what the ad is for - I am hopeless at remembering them. I see HRH has been playing with guns in OZ.

Allan - I have even offered to back his bags for him. Poor bloke - he tells people what I say - things like ooh look it's green can we use it - he is away in dreamland at the traffic lights. One night he pulled over to the side of the road on the way home - I said where you going - he said I'm stopping for the police - I said it's a shop alarm going off. A young friend of mine often says your husband has his blonde moments.

Carole - do go to Maldon it is like a step back in time. We have a couple of replica places of the old times - and they just look twee but here was the real thing. I was very impressed - OH went to their car museum so he was happy as well.

You'll get used to it Diane - takes a while and I know that when my younger one got back from UK with new husband in tow and we had a lovely two weeks and then they were off again and I felt it - but now - I will be very glad when I get rid of all her stuff. I got OH to take a lot of her books, CDs and tapes etc down to Wellington. She said what did she want with old tapes - well I wasn't prepared to chuck them - let her do that.
I ended up giving some of her clothes away and I wear some of them as well, and a few handbags etc - saved me a few bob.

Take care all - will be back on Saturday morning my time - Friday night in Herriot Country etc.

Persey

Hi all, just popped in to see if anyone around, ah well not at the moment so I will come back later.

Perse, when I got back from work today I spent 3hrs cleaning his room, he took nearly all his stuff but the window frame and window's which I couldn't get to when he was here were filthy and so was the skirting board's especially were there had been unit's stopping me getting to them. I'm going to use his room as my sewing room and somewhere the grand-children can get their head's down if they stay.

Good morning/evening everyone:-))

Diane - it's hard when they fly the coop but it's how it should be. That's what I keep telling my youngest:-) He's 28 but he's lived away from home twice. The last time he moved to Canberra (about 2hours away) was for work. He had 2 weeks notice so he packed his stuff and moved down there. I missed him very much but we enjoyed having the house to ourselves and he loved Canberra. Then the business went belly up and he couldn't afford to stay there and he came home. He's talking about getting his own place again so we'll see what happens.

Berona - you sure know how to put our fellows in their place. I couldn't stop laughing at your comments about their little "fantasies".

Carole it's hard when your kids leave home but it means you've done a good job. You've made them confident and independant enough to step out into the big world. You never lose them - your the anchor that keeps their feet on the ground.

The on going saga of my problem at work is now starting to annoy me as I have contacted a couple of committee members to keep them up to scratch and I've been told in so many words to leave it alone as this has been broached before and they made threats about legal action and going to the papers if the job was taken off them. I can't believe that they were allowed to get away with what is a relatively small problem. I've made an appointment with a solicitor who works for us "pro bono" and see what he has to say. They are a very arrogant couple and now I know why. Grrrrrr

Hi Diane,
Good that your grand daughter is home again, but she won't be dancing around her handbag for a while will she?
Kind of your son to leave his laptop.
We are ok thanks - OH is fine today, she sees her doctor tomorrow. I saw mine today, just routine, BP fine, colesterol fine, keep taking the tablets.
Tomorrow I may start work on the kitchen, always something to do here.

I hope that you have your feet up Diane.

You do have a problem Sue, but if the finances are not correct, no one is above the law, so stick to your guns.

I am glad that you have been passed fighting fit Tec.Don't forget you have the dining room to do once you have finished the kitchen

Berona Report 21 Jan 2010 21:08

Good evening/morning everyone. Hot day coming up. Expecting 40+ here.

Sue - they're just typical males, who dream that they still look like they did when they were young while everyone else ages!
It's good that you are getting advice from a solicitor. The arrogance of these people is a 'front' to cover their guilty conscience. Perhaps you could just introduce a 'new' method of keeping records?

Diane - I can see you have already put your sewing room plans into action. Good for you.

I hope you're going to eat properly now that there's only you to cook for, Diane. Just think - not as much washing and ironing:-) Hope your grand-daughter "heels" well and is "back on her feet" soon. She'll have to "toe the line" for awhile. Sorry - couldn't resist:-))

Linda - I am going to stick to my guns because this driver has been allowed to get away with it for too long. I suspect most of it is carelessness because his wife does the books. I wouldn't pass any of his driver's sheets for reimbursement if I was doing the job.

Tec - I'm glad your check-up went well. Let's hope the doctor looks after the Duchess as she should be looked after.

Hi Sue, yes it is hard when the last one leave's and I wanted him to make his own way in the world before he was 25yrs old, he will be 25 in May, the 2 eldest left when they were 16yrs old, it is the first time I have ever been on my own ( not that it bother's me ) but it is so quiet and feel's so strange not to be shouting him to make a coffee or to hear his voice on the phone to some-one, just normal thing's like asking him what shall we have for our evening meal or are any of his friend's popping round. I suppose it won't be long before I get used to my own voice ( thank god for the cat ) as she greet's me as I return from work and if she is lonely she will jump up on the settee and nudge my hand to be stroked.

Tec wasn't it kind of him, he knew how much it mean's to me to be able to chat on GR lol.

Berona Report 21 Jan 2010 21:20

Good evening Linda. I would like to stay put, but my doc wants me to have another blood test direct at the pathologist's. Daughter was going to take me yesterday, but as a volunteer worker for their cricket club, she waited for the Coca Cola driver to ring so that she could drive to the cricket ground and open the canteen for him. Then, she would come back and get me. Didn't work. No call. So when it got too close to the pathologist's closing time, we arranged it for to-day.
She eventually rang and found that the driver was off sick and nobody bothered to let her know. Wasted day. Now, to-day is the last chance I have to have my test so that the results can go to my specialist before I see him, and my grand-daughter has a dental appointment. And once again, it all hinges on when the drinks can be delivered!!! No wonder it's hard to get volunteers these days!

Allan

Allan Report 21 Jan 2010 21:25

good morning Sue, Berona

Good evening Diane, Linda and Tec.

Sue, I think that it should be pointed out to the committee that if members were aware of discrepancies, they to are liable any action. And as for the others threatening to go to the press and legal action, I heard that particular line nearly everyday when I was working. Customers don't like being told that they can't do something

The stock answer was "well go for it and in future do not bother phoning or coming into the office, I'll only respond to letters so that there is no misunderstanking about what has been said"

Needless to say nothing was ever taken any further

Diane, I'm pleased that your granddaughter is back on her feet....well you know what I mean!
