Tec, Queen are my favourite group in the whole world. They, or their cd's are often to be found blasting out here, while I relive my youth.

It was the Bay city Rollers Sue, too late for me of course. I was more of a Rolling Stones Fan, I went to see them at Sunderland Empire in 1964

Yes - that's them - Bay City Rollers,
Why would you want to smack them Sue? :))

Hello Berona and Allan, OH has just put the bin out as well. I daren't tell him about talking to them, he would think that I was mad

Allan Report 24 Jan 2010 21:53

Good morning, Berona

Good evening Linda

Tec you need to know the secret handshake and password, otherwise the bins are sworn to secrecy.

Linda, you will be counting down the hours now. Manchester Airport: I remember when it was still called Ringway. We used to ride our bikes out there as kids and have a picnic at the back of one of the perimeter fences.

We'd probably be shot these days :0))

Berona, have your leg cramps finally ceased?

Good Morning Berona - I don't feel geriatric at all, but three years ago I was in hospital in a ward with a lot of old men - really old men - when I asked a nurse why was I in that ward, she replied that it was a geriatric ward, and as I was over 65 I was considered medically geriatric.
That shut me up.

Linda - Bohemian Rhapsody........Brilliant
When I finally fall off my perch, I've asked that the music chosen should include "Another One Bites The Dust"

Hi Linda. Don't tell Allan, but if your OH thought you were mad wanting to talk to wheelie bins - he would be right!

I hate driving to Manchester it is such a flog and the parking is always about quarter of an hour away at least. Normally we have no option because the check in is too early for the train, but this time it works out fine

Tec,
Age is just a number! Two of my friends are younger than you but they seem older. I'm impressed that you are on a site like this!

Berona Report 24 Jan 2010 22:05

Allan - thanks for asking. The cramps were bad for a whole week, then stopped, and only on two occasions since, have I felt a twinge in the toes and I have stamped my foot and it went away. I'm taking a mild 'natural' magnesium tablet to help prevent them. My legs have improved in strength, but I can still only walk about twenty paces before the calf muscles object and I have to sit down and rest them for a while. I'm still unable to walk as far as my mailbox or put out my bin, but I'm working on it. I see my specialist on Saturday so I'm hoping he will know what caused it and how to stop it from happening again - and most of all - how to put power back into my legs!

Hi Berona,
I didn't realise that your cramps were that bad. I only read what's on the front page here so I miss a fair bit.
I hope the specialist come sort out the problem.

Linda, yesterday we were discussing Perth. There are buses to Perth Airport but no trains.

The weird thing about Perth is that it has two airports, the Domestic and the International. Most Airports do!

However the domestic airport is on one side of the runway and the international on the other. There is a shuttle bus service between the two and the journey takes just over a quarter of an hour if the roads are quiet. However as the roads are some of the busiest in Perth the journey can take much longer and if you are going to catch a connecting flight from either airport, the airport company make no guarantees that you will catch your flight.

Only now are they discussing the possibility of having a train connection to them.

And parking is a nightmare because of all the fly in fly out workers!

I refuse to wear a flat cap, especially a tweed one

Hi Tec,
So do you wear a ski hat? Heat escapes from your headin the cold weather.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Jan 2010 22:17

I thought that you wore your nightcap all day long Tec

Berona

Berona Report 24 Jan 2010 22:19

Of course he wears it all day long. That's why I made it! Long, too, so that he can wrap it around his neck - then he can put something else on top of that if he wishes. He should be warm. Tell me if you're not, Tec - and I'll make another one with thicker wool!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Jan 2010 22:24

Pat - I still have hair, albeit now grey to silver - so wear nothing on my head

Linda - The nightcap that Berona so graciously knitted is woollen, and therefore gets very heavy in the rain - also I discovered people tended to avoid me when wearing it in the village

Tec

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Jan 2010 22:27

I can't think why Tec, I am sure with Berona's colour scheme you look very nice.

Berona perhaps you could knit him one in pure silk, that way it wouldn't get soggy in the rain. After all, it rains for most of the year in Wales

Berona

Berona Report 24 Jan 2010 22:29

Tec - take no notice of the people staring at you. I purposely chose the powder blue shade so that it wouldn't attract attention like Allan's beanie.
Maybe you could weat a sou'wester over it so that the rain doesn't make it heavy.
