Hi Tec,
My brain was a bit fuzzy at the quiz..My boss remembers the questions I get wrong! We lost 1/2 mark because in a film's round I thought it Bridge over The River Kwai instead of Bridge on the River Kwai!.£1,700 was raised on Friday night..
I saw a few snowflakes this morning.

Shall I swim the English Channel?
Climb Everest?
Row the Atlantic single handed?
Bungee jump of the Empire State Building?

Or..........renovate the kitchen?

Hello all - from a cooler damper Auckland - it rained nearly all night and it is doing its intermittent rain bit today and it is blowy (a bit stronger than a breeze)
Today is a public holiday and my daughter and family have been at Mystery Creek (just outside Hamilton) all weekend camping - they have gone to a Christian concert - they kept dry in their tents last night but some of their friends have gone home - got flooded out. We trained both our daughters well on how to camp in wet weather - we became experts - the weather would take one look at our tents and rain overnight etc.

I sometimes sit here like you do Tec - but then my hands get all tingly from sitting on them - then I think why am I looking at them being so so stupid and I go back to my tree.

Hi Perse you arrived as I posted, they do go on about the same thing don't they lol, you think by now they would just learn to ignore the trouble maker's, in my experience if you ignore then they soon get fed up.

That is a very defeatist attitude you are taking Diane - telling him to avoid the lot. We have to encourage and praise at all times.

Pat - I would have probably said Over rather than on - it makes more sense when you think of it quickly. So so pedantic when you have to get even the little words right. Give your boss a clip around the ears from me.

Good advice Diane - think I'll run away.

Come back when the Duchess has had someone else do it

good morning everyone - good evening everyone.
A bit late - but since visiting my specialist on Saturday, I have just had the two best nights' sleep I've had in a long while!

Allan - I haven't done much studying of the DVD yet. I just added another recording from last night's programmes. However, for what it's worth - my old one played tricks on me and I usually overcame the problems by unplugging the power cable and re-plugging it. When it finally gave out altogether, my DIL examined it and I saw her empty out the batteries from the remote control; place the control and the cable on top of the DVD, then pick up the whole lot and said "where's your bin?".

I was having problems with my computer too - the disc drawer wouldn't open, and a disc was stuck in there for months - and she fixed that easily - by unwinding a paper clip!! I can now use the D: drive anytime - but I keep the opened paper-clip handy to removing the discs! Would you like me to send her over???

Allan my son said are the DVD's imported from Europe or bought in Aussie ?
If purchase in Europe then the reason they won't play is because DVD from Europe are region 2 and therefor will not play on Aussie bought player's.
If DVD's purchased in Aussie he is unable to advise you.
Sorry if this is of no help.

Good Morning Berona,

Glad to hear you slept better, you will feel the benefit of that.
I like your daughters attitude, if it doesn't work, bin it.
I'm not very technically minded, and have no patience with a gadget that won't work.
The Duchess fiddles for hours with something that won't work, and that drives me mad. Well, even more mad!

Does anyone else find their neighbours
odd?
strange?
weird?
peculiar?

Is it me? am I the only sane one in the neighbourhood.
Do you ever watch your neighbours and wonder about them

When my DIL came back from the bin empty-handed, what could I say? She and my son gave me the unit as a present in the first place! My son can get them at a discount price and said he would look out for another one for me - but I was tired of waiting, so when I said I missed it, my daughter went straight to a shop and rang me with the details - and I bought another one. This one has a hard drive as well as a disc drive.

Good morning Berona

Diane, the Recorder was purchased in Australia and is about 4 years old. It was my daughter's, but we bought it off her when she moved out a couple of years ago.

Berona, I'll keep messing with it until a) it works, b) I stuff it up completely or c) I electrocute myself :0))

Tec - I wouldn't expect you to do a heptathlon. I suggest you renovate the kitchen - even if it does show how 'tired' the dining room looks. You can move onto the dining room after you finish the kitchen. Of course, two renovated rooms will possibly make other rooms look a little shabby too, but you have plenty of time - don't rush it.

Allan I was asking if DVD's ( disc ) were imported from Europe not the player hun.

Hi Berona glad you have had some good sleep the past few night's and hope you are dancing around very soon.
