Hi Glenda,
"Footprints in the sand"
I like this version. It is shorter and less flowery than some of the later versions.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

This is a bit brave and arrogant of me, but prostate cancer does not kill as many men as one would expect. Often it is a low grade and slow growing, so all it really needs is watching. Not more surgery.

xx Colin

The situation so far shows your Dad is a fighter Glenda, so don't despair, hope the specialist has good news for him and he will be out of hospital soon and continuing his battle.

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and hugs...... he's home!!!!

Still some hurdles to overcome....but.....he's ok for now.

Colin, thank you, it always makes me cry....but also is really comforting for me.

I am so relieved....., tomorrow is another day, another hurdle...but I am ready!!!

Can't find the words to express my gratitude to all my GR 'friends'... have been overwhelmed with the support that you have given me.

I am sure you and your Dad will be much happier now he is in familiar surroundings and can get rest when he wants, it's always very noisy in hospitals and you don't get the rest you need to recover well.

I hope he is soon feeling lots better.

So glad your dad is home now as this will be a psychological boost for him even though they will need to keep an eye on him. Now you need to pamper and look after yourself a bit.

Best wishes to you both.

Thank you SueMaid, MaryinSpain,PollyPoppet,Jean(Monmouth),Purple Sparkly, Annx and my friend Shimms.. cannot find the words to tell you how grateful I am that you have cared enough to respond.
I was in a very bad place when I first posted my thread, was so worried and scared of losing my Dad.
He's coming along ok but it is really exhausting being his only carer, but well.......if only he would do what I say.....but I'm as stubborn as he is lol
Sorry I haven't been able to respond to you all before now but haven't had a lot of 'me time'

Love to you all
