Hi barbra

G'day Tony

We have never been to New Zealand but would like to go one day.

When living in the UK I liked Wales, Scotland Northumberland and the Lakes.

I guess I am drawn to the rugged type of scenery. I haven't travelled very far in the north of WA but in the south I really like the area around the Stirling Range and the Porongorups.

Not as extensive as mountain Ranges elsewhere but still a magnificent sight and area.

It's also the only area in WA to have snow, although it never lasts for long :0((

The Midges wiped out the Dinosaur in Scotland.....True...;>))

Must admit tis a beautiful Country Scotland.
Not that i have seen a lot of it, but what i saw ( from an Aussie point of view ) it is..... ( Highlands ) one of the most scenic countries i have ever visited and driven in.

South Island of New Zealand comes to mind.

Allan people have differant ideas about holidays & the way they live
we lived in a town most of our lives . handy for shops & markets . but now enjoy the laid back life here . maybe not the same for a lot of people .
I am not a person to want to be in crowds & lot of hussle & bussle
could sit by a loch & read a book & just enjoy the peace & quite . for an afternoon . , others would want to be on the go .. count my blessings that have found my heaven here !!!!

I've just seen the reference to sheep.

This area is actually dairy country so plenty of cows. The sheep are further South, particularly around Kojonup where I was working recently

Barbra, I saw the programme 'Islands of Britain' with Martin Clunes visiting the Scottish Islands

What remarkable scenery! I have always like Scotland but I suppose the grass is always greener!

There are very nice areas around where we live but not the same visual impact

whoo.. you can always come here for a holiday beautifull Dumfries & Galaway . the sea. mountains .& sheep mind you there will be plenty were you are sheep i mean !!

Barbra, I only post on threads which aren't too serious, and I definitely steer clear of all those b*tchy type threads.

Also, with some of them they are soon gone once the topic is no longer relevant.

I just enjoy chatting to the ones on the long term threads!

My great grandmother came from Cork, Annie Coe.

It was her daughter that married my paternal grandfather
