Interesting. I know why Geordies are called "Geordies", but why are Cockneys so called?

Thank you Barbra and Allan, I never knew that. I always referred to Lancastrians as being from Lancaster.

Hi SRS,

Lancastrians are from Lancashire generally these days but back at the time of the Wars of the Roses they were specifically suppoters of the House of Lancaster

The larger Towns in the County have their own names such as Mancunians or Liverpuddlians/scousers

Hi Barbra :)

Aren't people from Lancaster called Lancastrians rather than people from Lancashire in general? After all Liverpool was part of Lancashire at one time.

Allan,
Where have been all night?

Where have you gone with my llama? - I managed to shake Berona off, absailed off the Aussie thread, got chased by Linda and the dogs, swam a river, lost the camel, scaled the cliffs, paraglided into town, and caught the No9 bus to Oxford Circus, now eating the cream doughnut!

If you're still playing with that reticular wotsit, get back here!

Tec.
