Uggers, I can understand that, but although I have a lot of friends on there from here, lots of them I have met and are friends with in real life now, and some I am with for other reasons than GR. I also have family on there, and other real life friends.

I've also found a couple of cousins we lost touch with because of divorce, death etc, and that's been a real bonus.

...and cut to the quick I was to be knocked on the head .........

Grumpy?....................yes i can agree with that. lol

I must be getting grumpier in my old age cos I got irritated when I had too many friends on there and knocked over 30 on the head. I also - with a couple of exceptions - removed people I didn't know very well, partly because I trust people less and partly because most of my FB friends are real life people - I don't see it as an extension of GR or anything like that.

I've got mine set to friends only, so others can't see my pics. It's easy to do through your account settings.

I've been on there a couple of years now, and learned the hard way how easy it is for someone to abuse your trust, but that we also have control over who sees what on there. I've got one or two people blocked, who I wouldn't trust with the rats from the sewer, but they really are only one or two people.

Rose (RR), how spooky......I've just logged onto GR to ask you all that very question lol

I asked about facebook about a year ago about the pros and cons and decided the time wasn't right, mainly because my family tree has been a right mess and I needed to find time fixing it after the big Family Tree Maker disaster of 2008 or was it 2007? lol

Facebook just seemed too addictive and I was worried I'd never straighten my tree out.

My tree isn't finished but it's almost straight and I was thinking about joining but I've always been a bit wary about who could see what.

I've got family, friends and internet friends and typical of me I'd like to get them in their separate compartments lol Afterall who needs to know about my Great Aunt Flo chatting about her bunions lol

I just don't understand the whole Facebook thing and how it works so am a bit wary. Can that be done ,ie keep everyone in their separate compartments?

Have FB with family and friends spread every where it is a great site, recentky saw a video of the prime minister of Norway who seemed to be pretty well into his cups posted onit, Not a mention in the ordinary press

All my kids and grandchildren are on there, plus we have found lots of army friends we lost contact with during the years........................and as for fairy garden well i love it have so much fun and banter on there with lots of old one from here.

I have taken off all the pics of my children ......for reasons that are well known to people on here........and if anyone wants to have a nosey on my profile they'll only see pics of me ( those who have seen them will know that the resemblance to Kylie is of course breathtaking *coughs*).......and pics of my pets....nothing at all that I really care who sees.... my language on there...is at times ripe....as it is in real life lol....but hey ho .....I refuse to add my friends children onto it for that reason...I treat it as an adult site and have good fun on there catching up with family and friends alike xx

I have never slated anyone for being on there either. I have 135 people on my friends list & I know most of them personally & the rest i "know" through here or FTF

I would never accept a friend request just because they popped up on my suggestion bit

Can I ask those in the know something please ?

I have no problem with anyone reading anything I say or do, or photos etc...an 'open book' me ( or very boring depending on your viewpoint ;) ) ...but can I stop people seeing who my other 'friends' are on there? I am always a bit concerned that people looking on my profile can see that of my relatives too...If I just set privacy settings re who can see my profile does that work ?
