Do you have a memory pack of pills?

They are okay if you know what day it is.

Well I have just reread my last few posts on this thread and I'm disgusted with myself

No Sarcastic comments

Displays of empathy and sympathy.

Hi Perse.

The pilot of that plane was a NZ der he is quite a character and still around - they thought they would be going to land in the sea - lights went out and the little lights on the floor came on and it was touch and go - but the pilot dropped down to 10,000 feet where one could manage without the worry of oxygen. Then the engines gradually ignited or whatever they do again.

One of the passengers on that flight was saying how they talked amongst themselves and everyone was quite calm about it. The person next to her (whose mother slept throught it all) said you better put your shoes on - and she said no that would not be a good idea for the life raft

There are some lovely places in Scotland...if you get the weather lol.
Went to Gareloch last year, never been before and it was lovely, beaches the lot. a bit windy but I loved it.

Marion from my recollections of Scotland, there are many worse places to holiday!

We had our Honeymoon at Fort William, and years later when we had a small caravan did a tour of the Highlands, going as far as Banff to catch up with a friend.

I know that's no consolation if you are looking forwards to a nice overseas holiday!

Two weeks is plenty of time for things to settle down.

I heard a pilot on the radio talking about that. something he said he hoped he would never have to do again.
We are due to go on holiday in a couple of weeks. so we will just have to wait and see what happens. They just dont know how long it is going to last
and there might be another one starting up too they say.
Could be another Scottish holiday for us.

I'm not surprised, Marion.

We came out to WA in June 1982 via Qantas

the day after we arrived, a BA flight flew through a Volcanic eruption over Indonesia, loosing power to all four engines.

that must have been a terrifying experience, certainly not one that I'd like to go through!!

Apparently, the ash forms glass in the engines causing masive damage
