It was just something to watch when I was doing the ironing or whilst getting the dinner ready. Could not go and revisit old episodes even if someone paid me, lol. Terrible acting I agree, but a springboard for the likes of Heath Ledger and a few others who went on to better things. I don't remember Colleen from the early days - I must have gone years without watching it at different stages.

You must have more patience than I have. The first episodes were started on one of the new HD chanels this year, and I tried to watch it but the acting was so pathetic, I gave it away. The only person I recognised was Colleen, looking much younger, of course. I might try again to see if I can pick up some history.

Hello all,

I did post earlier, but lost the lot when I submitted it.

Sally came to live in the Bay as a very little girl fostered by Pippa and Tom. She got to know Alf from then on and he became a life-long friend and mentor, but not related in anyway. I think it began in 1988, but I started watching from late 1989. Have had many breaks during this time due to script, poor acting, lack of facts, etc.

I like Dex and his character is intelligent and witty. They have a strong script for him, something the writers have got right.

Sunny here, but cold and windy. 4.47 pm

Maybe Miles does the washing to pay for his board? Can't he afford to pay it out of his wages as a high school teacher? I know he came there as Sally's twin brother, but can anyone tell me how Sally was connected to Alf? If it was family relationship, then it should apply to Miles too - or haven't the writers worked that one out yet?

Hi All,

Marion I don't watch Emmerdale, but I've probably just pulled that name from a movie or something else, because it sounded like Seb - silly me :-)

Colleen, lightning strikes and the wrath of God!!!! That will teach the silly old biddy to gossip :-D She purses her lips just when she's heard some good tidbits to spread around. I was watching her last night, her facial contortions crack me up haha.

Berona, you'd have to think that some of them (well the ones 16 and over still at school) would be getting the Govt. Allowance - Casey, Ruby - depending on what Charlie earns and April would get something. A few large, unexplained holes here and there in the storyline. I thought Morag was in charge of the park whilst Alf was away. She can't go to the city surely until Alfred returns??? Marilyn must have Romeo or Nicole's old room.

Sunny and cold here today. Should be doing some washing; better get on with it. Happy days. 1.56 pm EST

Most of the 'kids' seem to be in their last year, or finished school, so that puts them at 17/18 and welfare is not interested after 18. So, that leave another question - who pays their board?
I suppose Bianca pays for April and either Morag or Charlie should pay for Ruby but what about Romeo? Nice and convenient, now that he is married and can live with Sid. Even Casey only stayed a couple of nights before being collected by big brother Darrel. The younger ones don't seem to have a problem paying their way - it's poor Marilyn who is having financial difficulties - but working it out with Miles? I thought Morag was in charge of the park and Alf's house? Did I miss something somewhere?

MEgirl Report 7 Jul 2011 13:53

Yes, that's him Seb. Where did I get Seth from???? Thanks Martin.

Well Marilyn might get her heels caught in the pier if she has too many drinkies, lol. Yeah Xavier has thrown a real wobbly, he's going to be a pain for weeks now :-( No one ever seems to have a real hangover on that show. They are always in that bar and Roo constantly has a wineglass handy!! Even Colleen gets plastered and seems alright the next day.

Hope you are all well. So cold here tonight, trying to save on the power bill. Better go and wrap myself up in a blanket.

Kim ...you were near enough with the name. I still had to google Seb.
You maybe got mixed up with Seth in Emmerdale...if you get it where you are.

Just to keep you all right...Seth wasn't Don Fisher's grandson...the grandson was actually called Seb (short for Sebastian)...there was no Seth! Hope that clears that one up!

I used to watch Neighbours in the early years, but the acting was bad, so I eventually gave it away. It is now shown at a time which overlaps a little with the time that H&A is shown on a rival chanel (and at a time when I am thinking of my evening meal) so I tune to one chanel and leave it there.

Over the years, I have owned vans on-site (I think you say 'static') in different parks and I have stayed in overnight vans a few times - and I have never NEVER seen women wearing high heels in a caravan park unless they are going out for the evening! The usual mode of dress is T-shirts, shorts, sundresses - and just swimming costumes - not the outfits and shoes that Marilyn wears.

I have also done the required course and helped with accommodating children who are no longer with their families - and believe me, the authorities would never allow someone with Irene's background to help - and if they did, it is THEY who decide which children they send - it's not her decision to allow certain ones to stay and she would let the authorities know about it! That just doesn't happen.

I find it very frustrating when I see things like this happening. It's so obvious that the writers/producers have not done their homework and 'cheapens' the show.

Happy anniversary Marion, OH is a lucky man and he has you too ;-) Have a great day.

Marilyn has gone back to the main house at the caravan park. How many rooms does that place have? I think Sid has been cold and ruthless about the whole thing. Others are still in Hawaii, but Roo will have to come back soon and face Sid (and Marilyn).

Brax' past has caught up with him with the arrival of the old girlfriend. She is definitely out to make trouble for our lovebirds.

Have never ever watched Neighbours and never will.

Cold and sunny here. Have a good day all. 2.07pm EST

Alf's house seems to be a home for 'strays'. One of those half-way houses?
It's very rarely we see anyone come in to pay their camping fees - no office-front to the house - vans parked higgledy-piggledy. Miles at least does change the sheets in the overnight vans, but nobody else seems to do any work involved with running the park.
That brings me back to the script writers. Have they ever stayed in a caravan park?
