my family has a varied background and i was wondering if it was easier to trace a family member backwards (eg i know when my grandfather died and where he is buried and the house my mother was brought up in I also have my grandfathers and grandmother marriage cert I know where my grandfather lived in 1911 aged 16 but there are no records of him before that that i can find The family said he was a foundling but if so should he not have been registered some where |
