Also have to say it's the only tournament where I wasn't shouting for him to make a change as I had absolutely NO faith in his ability to produce a knock out punch.

When you KNOW the only prospect of changeis Heskey or Sean Wright bleeding Phillips you kind of feel it prudent to stick with what you have and say nowt lol x

Yep can't argue with any of that.

Some of the little flowers believe they have a divine right to be in the first 11...if not even have a say in who is chosen...

A good kick up the realities would be in order no doubt about it.

What England need is a good man manager...and as they are NOT getting Arry they really need El Tel..*sobs* god I miss him !!!!!!!!!

Ohhhh and to add I think they are all pampered....get them back to basics..no 5 star hotel or training area no wags on tour what use are they.... GOOD KICK UP THE JACKSY for all of them and finally sort out the manager NOW.... they have 2 years till Euro.

I agree with the fact he was no use for the format that Crapello uses but I do think he tried hard and yes a spell on the bench would of done him no harm the team as a team just didnt gell at all and today I thought a couple Frank Lampard for one was looking for glory a team isnt made out of 1 hero.

Felt the same about Lennon hayley..for Spurs he'd have cracked in goal at least 5 of the passes he made...was SO frustrating as I knew what he was capable of but it was like he was being held back and *just following orders*

I still think Rooney should've been substituted as I don't think he earnt his place..it may have ultimately done him good to spend a bit of time on the bench.

I agree Sue...years ago we had to have a certain percentage of English players in a team...they should go back to that for the good of the national game x

Actually Muffy I dont think there was anything wrong with Rooneys fitness, he is a striker and plays up front he is used to service and wasnt getting any so he'd run back to mid field if you watch him play for his club he never does that but he does have good service from the wingers it wasnt a good world cup for him at all.

I think you've just nailed it , Muffy - "ploughing on"

Same failed formation, same failed strategy, same result

As long as the premiership is 65 percent constituted of foreign players, we're stuck with this. Money talks

I've just watched Argentina - maybe lacking defensively, but what team spirit

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - as long as big money rules in the Premiership, there's not a snowballs chance of the national team winning anything.

I think we had the players Sue...just not in the format they were played.

Ploughing on for 4 games with Rooney when he was clearly out of sorts and unfit... BIG mistake.

Constantly using Heskey who did NOTHING every time he was on the pitch...another BIG mistake.

He kept re using the same old rubbish formula...which is a travesty as he had enough talent on the benches to shake the whole thing up and re write history.

Wouldn't object to Shearer though...he'd be a very passionate England manager x

suzian Report 27 Jun 2010 22:11

Never mind the manager - today's game just proved that we weren't good enough

As long as the big Premiership clubs hold sway over the FA, there's no chance for a national team.

Having said that, if what we need is a true Englishman who has football credentials, who'll command the respect of the players and who's 100 percent committed to success, then maybe Alan Shearer is your man.

but only the good looking fit as players will be training with moi

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 27 Jun 2010 18:25

Well France got their karma lol

I'd like to see an English speaker this time too Hayley...which is why I'd go for Martin O'Neil...The FA really won't touch Arry while his name is under a cloud and Fergusson won't do the job...Scotland Manager yes...but he hasn't the heart for England imho x

FootieAngel

FootieAngel Report 27 Jun 2010 18:24

I am thinking.....we need someone the team can look up to and respect likeSir Alex or 'arry, and can converse with the team how long must the time talks take with a translator?
