Chris and Liz, My daughter is lots better now thank you, she just feels weak, but I think when she can eat properly her strength will soon return.

Chris, I really feel for you with your son still being poorly, its so worrying for you. I use the hand gel and have done since I had my cancers. I have been trying not to use them so much lately as I was using them all the time. Not used them for months but think I will buy some.

I feel a bit better today, just a nasty cold and cough I would say.

Love to you all xx

The hand gells are great but with the flu and norovirus I read that nothing beats hot water and soap and make sure you wash every bit of your hands to your wrists.

Especially in between fingers. Son has been sleeping a lot today, and although his breathing is not good he says it is a little easier so steriods must be kicking in - I know with me they work very quickly. Good wishes to all who are poorly and to those who are caring for the sick.

Sylvia, glad your daughter is feeling better, as you say she will feel stronger when she can eat well again.

Chris, hope the meds continue to do their job and your son soon feels better.

I thought I was doing ok but now have a sore throat again!

O.h. is at last being more careful about where his germs go, he is almost well too but still coughing.

Still staying home, I know there will be lots of people out at the shops spreading their germs and the stores are so hot and stuffy they are a breeding ground for bugs!

How are things now Chris? any better?

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 4 Jan 2011 15:13

Marion thank you, OH just phoned me from sons, he has been shopping for son and us and says he looks a lot better today although weak and sleeping a lot but is beginning to eat, ate the cottage pie 2 days ago and said it was lovely. That threw me- he would normally say it was OK or it was all right! So looks as if he is beginning at long last to make progress.

It certainly is a nasty and worrying flu and it seems a lot of people are having chest infections with it as did our son.

Hope everyone else connected with this thread is making progress. Thanks you everyone for your support and concern.

I even cancelled hair appointment today, with my problems ,best staying at home until all of this is over - OH has had enough to put up with!

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 4 Jan 2011 15:30

We are mothers until the day comes when they put a lid on us!!! As Kemp says so and so kids - no matter what age they are. Son says new antibiotics are like horse pills but they seem to be doing the job - that and steroids. Have OH on Sanatogen Gold - purely in my own selfish interests! Thank you for your concern.

Chris, so pleased to hear your son is improving at last. When he is eating more, his strength will return. Saw my daughter yesterday and she is looking lots better but still feeling weak, she said "what a way to lose weight" and that next year she will pay to have the flu jab.
Take care xx

I went out for the first time since C. Eve yesterday but got tired very quickly and by the time I got home didn't feel great. O.h. came home in a strop from work and he was lucky when he started having a go at me, I didn't wrap something hard round his stupid head!
Next time he gets a cold I am going to nick his credit card and check myself into a hotel out of the way of his germs.

Glad your son is on the mend now Chris, tell him not to run before he can walk, it's too easy to think you are well again and undo all the effort to get well.
