Chris, I know how you must feel. Any mother would feel the same. It doesn't make things better that you cannot have any physical contact with him, but you know how it would affect your own health.
Are you able to talk to him by phone.
My OH has to take the helm when I am indisposed also, neither of us is getting any younger, and a few months ago, he had a minor heart attack, so it also bothers me.
I know what it is, you want to feed him up with that nice big juicy goose that you have waiting. LOLOL.
By the way, since driving around during this holiday, I have come across two sources where I could have got one from. One was a little smallholding person, and the other was a Poulterer, and licensed to sell Game. Both are on the trip to my favourite garden centre, so have put both in my little black book.
Take Care Chris, and please try not to worry too much about your son. You do not want to make yourself poorly aswell.
All the Best

Oh Chris ,
i know how you feel it's horrible isnt it when you cant help your children
but if you was to have him at yours or you go there you will suffer for it in the end, i suffer with Asthma C.O.A.P. and cant ever have the ch ildren / g/children here if they have a cold as straight away i get it then im in bed or worse hospital .
Dont feel guilty Chris your son knows that if you could you would look after him and it sounds as though your OH is doing a grand job ...what would we do without them ...
take care and try not to worry to much

She said it was probably swine flu - he had all the symptons of it - I checked on net. I was surprised he got medication - I know they prescribe tamiflu or something similar but it only works within the first 48 hours. He should be showing some improvement after ten days.

A Dr seeing him is the best thing. It is a worry for you though.

Do you know whether it's a type of flu, or an infection such as bronchitis? If flu, then antibiotics won't be any use.

This is the tenth day and after 7 days of antibiotics he does not appear to have improved. Still coughing, aching and getting weaker. Trouble is he lives alone and with my health dare not have him here. OH has been nearly every day on mercy runs and tidying up. Spoke to my Dr this morning and asked if he thought son would be free of infection by now to come here - he nearly had a fit and forbade me anywhere near him. Son asked me to contact his Dr and after discussion with nurse a dr will go to visit him today.

I feel guilty can't have him here, feel guilty OH has the burden of both of us.
