Good news from fb:

Matts home now and ash is being taken to QE hospital birmingham for more treatment as he's leg as become infected and they have a better understanding of he's condition,

Ash and cheryl are on their way back to QE hospital in Birmingham as they have more one on one care for the forces, and know more about Ashley condition, hope they are back soon.

Hope things go ok for Ash and they will all be together again soon, in the new house perhaps.

I saw a report in their local paper, seems it's viral meningitis so not as serious as bacterial.
Here's what was said and a comment from The Meningitis Trust which is supportive.
Adding this all to show the symptoms etc just to jog everyone's memory altho I hope no one elses family have to go through this.

Soldier and brother share hospital ward after contracting meningitis
A SOLDIER hospitalised by meningitis has been joined in the ward by his brother with his whole family needing treatment.

Sapper Ashley Hall, who lost both his legs and suffered other serious injuries in a bomb blast in Afghanistan, has contracted viral meningitis and is on a drip at Colchester General Hospital.

On Monday night he was rushed to hospital. By Tuesday night his 18-year-old brother Matt needed a hospital bed after contracting the illness.

His parents, and siblings Luke and Nathaniel, were also given antibiotics in hospital yesterday to prevent them contracting the illness and being hospitalised.

20-year-old Ashley, a former St Benedict’s College student in Colchester who lives in Stratford St Mary, had complained of headaches, bright lights, stiffness and headaches, which are all signs of meningitis, and 24 hours later Matt had similar symptoms.

However the family have been reassured it is viral meningitis rather than the more deadly bacterial form.

Everyone at the Meningitis Trust hopes that the brothers get better soon.

The recovery process from viral meningitis can be very slow, so it is important that they both take their time.

We are here to help the brothers and their family; as well as provide information on the disease. Simply call our freephone 24-hour nurse-staffed helpline on 0800 028 18 28, download our free iPhone app at www.meningitisapp.co

They really are an incredibly strong family unit and seem to face up to everything thats thrown at them with stoicism. A great example of what family should be.
Hope the boys continue their recovery and no more family members come down with it.
Love n (((((((hugs))))))) to whole family

Positive thoughts to Ash Matt & all the family.

Wherever they caught this horrible germ, I hope not too many other people become ill.

Latest fb comments, look how strong these parents are, hope the boys are better today than yesterday and improve more each day.
Love Izzy's names for the enemies, and am so glad they have each other to get through this.

From Dad: Sitting here in hospital, wandering back and forwards between rooms making sure our boys are safe and sound, I sometimes wonder why things like this happen, is it to see if the bond between us as a family can be broken or how much more we can take before we break,
·
terry taliban couldn't break us hun, and mingy meningitis isn't going to either, love all my boys to the moon and back. xxx

And why are you not tucked up in bed?

same reason as you don't when i'm at hospital and you are at home xx

The boys are fast asleep
