I am three quarters of the way through the first book Mersey ever recommended on this thread. Hot House Flower by Lucinda Riley. An excellent book, I had it on my Kindle since Mersey recommended it but it got lost among the rest, really gripped by it.

Finished War of The Cousins and enjoyed this one also by Doris Davidson,
the sequel to the one I read before.

Have just bought for my Kindle...Kick Her Again; She's Irish by Mary and Colin
O'Reilly....£1.19

Marie O'Reilly is outside screaming at the World, her children watch through the living room window as the Police come to arrest her for disturbing the peace,
leaving them alone in the house. Thus begins the astonishing true story of a
family always living on the brink of disaster. The story unfolds through the eyes
of her children.

Saw Hilary being interviewed by Andrew Marr, she has her last two books adapted for the stage in two parts cannot recall who plays Thomas Cromwell....Ben ?(Googled) Miles, he was interviewed as well.Think it's been on since December.

She talked about her new book.......writing seems to flow from the woman's fingers effortlessly! *sighs*

Afternoon all :-) I really like the sound of that Season of Storms, Ann, and on my one memorable visit to Venice, I really loved the place, so will download, thanks.

I am reading Close Relations by Deborah Moggach and it has been quite absorbing. About a self-made builder called Gordon and his three daughters and their lives. When Gordon has a heart attack (no spoiler here, it was obvious from the start! lol) his life changes and he makes some choices which disrupt the whole family, especially his wife. Good read.

Kindle Tart BC XX <3

Thanks Ann you're welcome :-D.... my Son and Dil recommended it to me and I enjoyed it, but, like you say, might not be everybody's cup of tea.

You do appear to be a very quick reader what book are you hoping to read next? might get 'Kashmir shawl' think BC and others have liked it? :-D

Looked at the reviews on Amazon, not sure it is for me and it is quite expensive for a Kindle book so think i will give it a miss at the moment, it may come down in price. I have so many waiting to be read that I can afford to wait. thanks anyway Mau.

Good morning Ann

Book is by Barbara Kingsolver
The novel takes us on an epic journey from the Mexico City of artists Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo to the America of Pearl Harbor, FDR, J. Edgar Hoover and 'Mc Carthyism'
"The Lacuna" is a poignant story of a man pulled between two nations.

Very imaginative story, taking us from the 1930s onto 1950s, and mixes fact with fiction.

AnninGlos Report 1 Apr 2014 08:44
