Brenda, I was thinking about you and wondering how things went, I know how strong you have been in the past when faced with much sadness and am glad the funeral went as well as those things can. You must have wished you had a tape recorder to record all those 'Met' stories. I hope you can take up those invites, you deserve some Me time and maybe you will keep us posted on your travels.

Take care, some days will be harder than others to cope with but you will get through,

love
Lizxx

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on Wednesday.
It went well.I wrote a eulogy that the lady vicar read out and some of it caused a titter when she read his characteristics...stubborn,opinionated and always right, among other very good qualities. His policeman friends later were telling stories about his time in the Met and it really was a celebration of his life which he would have loved.
My 3 little great granddaughters were at the golf club and they caused a lot of laughs.
Busy time now everyone has gone sorting the paperwork etc.
I've had loads of invites to stay with friends,,,,so wait and see!!
Thanks again..

I am glad you have arranged a date that most people can manage, and that you feel ok about spending some quiet time alone to reflect and do things you want to do.

I have admired the way you always coped with whatever came at you, and managed to support your son and his family from afar when they had their own sadness, while caring for Dan and being a friend to people here.

Take care of yourself now and enjoy your memories of the good times with Dan and your family when life wasn't so difficult. I bet there will be many smiles among the sadness on Wednesday and that's the way it should be, celebrate Dan's life as well as mourn his passing.

Thinking of you Brenda

Thank you everyone.
Have arranged the funeral for Weds 31st at 2.30p.m.
The bank holiday monday has delayed it a bit and as some are travelling a long way this is a better time.
Daughter and s'i'l have gone home, but I am O.kand can perhaps get on with all the things on my mind at present.
do appreciate your concern but feel quite able to cope.

Please accept my deepest condolence for the loss of your husband. I am sure that you have great support from your family and friends. Whilst you will no doubt miss him greatly you will remember the good times and smile.
Your husband has not left you, he is merely in the room next door.

Prayers and positive thoughts
