The more I see of Gareth, the more I want to see what next he will come up with.
He knows how to get the best out of people and is a real National treasure.
Absolutely fantastic!

Loved the programme last night. Well done to Gareth and his ladies,
the children were a lovely thought to get them singing also.

I wonder if they will record the song and sell it in aid of the RBL or Help for Heroes.

I watched it last evening and it had me in tears too, beautiful words that chap wrote from reading some of the letters.

I wonder if Sam the Soloist's Mum recovered from the car accident, I felt so sorry for her, poor girl, altho I did dislike her tattoos. What on earth possesses someone to have so much of her body covered with those things, so that you can't even cover them with a top unless it's a polo neck. She was an attractive young woman without all that body art.

Gareth was amazing as always, he seems to know how to get the best out of people and give them confidence to shine.

More please, Gareth.

Oh yes Liz, the tatoos, not discreet ones were they? I wonder if she will ever regret having them done?

We were talking about this with someone yesterday and the tattoos were mentioned. I don't like them personally, but as one of our group rightly pointed out, seeing her and hearing her wonderful performance should make us realise that we shouldn't judge someone by their 'look' as it may hide an amazing person, who goes against an preconceived ideas of what we think they are like.

What next for Gareth, I wonder?

Very true Gwyn, and she also seems a very gentle shy person.

I think that's what surprised me about Sam, her shyness and lack of self esteem, always saying sorry and that she was c**p etc and yet she would draw attention to herself with the artwork. She is a lovely person tho and I wasn't meaning I had a different impression of her because of the the tattoos, just surprised someone would have so many done in the areas she had them.

I hope the women all continue to sing and enjoy the camaraderie and get new people to join in too.

Just read this:

GARETH MALONE and his singing soldiers' wives are being tipped to be the Christmas No 1.

Bookies have slashed their odds after this week's stunning finale of The Choir: Military Wives, when they performed Wherever You Are at the Royal Albert Hall on Remembrance Sunday.

And Radio 2's Chris Evans has urged his listeners to back the track.

William Hill have made the TV choir 7-2 second favourites — behind the X Factor winner. Spokesman Rupert Adams said: "It is a fantastic move in the market."

Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana and Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber's All I Want For Christmas Is You are also in the running at 7-1.

AnninGlos Report 27 Nov 2011 21:28

I read over the weekend, besides the Christmas number one that the choir has a new choir mistress and they are still singing. Gareth sayd he intends to keep in touch with them because he misses them.

There was a catch up prog about his S. Oxhey choir last evening. I hadn't realised they had asked him to stay on as Choirmaster and he did do it for a further 18 months. They are still going strong with a new choirmaster now. It was sad to see that the elderly lady Mrs Lee who enjoyed herself so much in the choir, died this year, she was 91, bless her. This programme is repeated tonight, Tuesday, at 11.20pm/

I think Gareth should have something from the Queen soon for all the good work he does getting people to interact and entertain others while doing so.

We also watched the catch-up programme last night, and enjoyed it very much. Yes, It was very sad to see that Mrs. Lee had died, but what a good age. And it was nice to see that the gentleman who had lost his wife just before the original programme was shown, had now found himself a lady friend and they were engaged.
