While your god's promise of eternal life is persausive, the Papua New Guinean mud god, Pikkiwoki, is promising a pig and as many coconuts you can carry.

There is no religion that fits all :-D :-D :-D :-D

Sheila, If the RR person did not have the capacity for intelligent debate then how would they have the intelligence to justify the reason to GR when the hit the RR button let alone the intelligence to actually have an opinion :-S

Roy :-)

Perhaps the RR'er has a genuine reason for reporting the thread. Perhaps the person doesn't want to reveal who they are after reading on some threads what the general consensus is regarding people who report threads. Perhaps the RR'er believes they would be shouted down if they tried to have an intelligent or otherwise debate.

Disclaimer :-D It wasn't me who reported the OP and my post isn't having a go at the OP or Eldrick 'cos I don't know what was said.

I think that if some one does not like or agree with a post it would be better to challenge the content through debate first rather than just using the RR button,

We all have our own opinions and we will never agree 100% of the time but the RR is not going to change any ones opinion you can only do that through intelligent debate,

Most RR'd threads never have a post from the RR person to explain why?
I have used the RR once in my time on her and that was because of personal info posted about children that the author refused to remove and i posted on the thread as to why i had reported the thread

Its a happy clappy song, which was the point of the irony not the easter coonotations, although irony tends to lose its impact upon explanation lol

Thanks to whoever RRd you I went to Wikipedia and found out for myself.

It was very enlightening.

Am reading a book about the history of Christmas at the moment, very similar, old religions celebrated around the same time as Christmas. The use of pagan symbols of mistletoe and holly an example of using bits of the old religions in the new Christian one.

Pat ;-)

Thats a real shame. Possibly the RR-er isn't as secure in their Faith as they assumed?

Eldrick was not knocking Christianity per se, just pointing out how the early Church assimilated local traditions.

I've always understood the association of eggs with Easter/spring - new life and rebirth. But rabbits??

Eldrick Report 2 Apr 2012 10:34
