I seem to remember Revlon Intimate and my sister used Coty l'aimant. I was once bought some Antelope by Weil. Thats lovely and you can get it today online. Also used Body Shop White Musk. Currently its Kenzo Flower and Elizabeth Arden Red Door.

Cussons did one called Blue Hyacinth which was lovely.

There was one called Moon Drops which was absolutely vile and there was one we trialled when I worked in Market Research which was by Yardley and was called Baroque. That, too, was quite horrible.

LollyWithSprinklez Report 5 Jul 2012 18:58

Body shop used to do a nice reasonable priced White Musk and X dil wore Anais Anais which again I liked but doesn't suit me now.

Kiku is ringing some bells but not sure if I know of it.

EDIT
Mau...My bil used to call Panstick face filler and boy did it do that :-D

Mauatthecoast Report 5 Jul 2012 18:44

Definitely remember Aquamanda,anyone remember Kiku?

In the sixties I wore Apple Blossom a lot, then in the seventies I loved Musk for evening ...wonder why ;-) or Anaïs Anaïs by Cacheral for daytime.
Then Opium (agree perfume changes on your skin when older) and it doesn't 'like me now' lol but have always hated smell of Poison perfume urgh....but now it's Chanel....must be me age ;-) :-D

Mau

Panstick!...memories eh Lolly <3

I don't know that one Lesley, at the moment I quite like Givenchy's Amarige
but its too heavy for daytime and to be honest I'm finding it gives me a headache. Am looking for something much lighter

LollyWithSprinklez Report 5 Jul 2012 18:26

That's it Blue Grass
A bottle of that your lippy and a mascara was all you needed when going up the Palais.

Oh and a tube of Panstick applied thickly :-D

Elizbeth Arden Blue Grass, I liked that too

One perfume I used for a while and which got many compliments, was Chantilly by Houbigant.

Bob.. glad to hear your Brut evaporated. Remember Enry "slapping it all over" Horrible..! lol :-D

Hartnells In Love was popular too Joy but never smelt the same on me PPs right I think the chemicals in your body do change the scent of the perfumes. I couldn't bear being near anyone wearing Poison or Opium far too overpowering.

I do like any that smell of citrus fruits so will ask at the counter for a sample of the Lauder for men "being attractive to anyone might be a bonus these days" ;-)

There was another perfume that filled the lavvys in the dance halls in the 60s again I've forgotten the name but it was Blue something.

On men I don't think any compare to Aramis original that always gets me :-D

Youth Dew smells like Antimate that you use on your dog,and it works as well!

DazedConfused Report 5 Jul 2012 13:19

I remember & used Aqua Manda. It came in a brown bottle and the label was orange/brown and swirly (very Art Deco). It was a lovely orange/musky smell.

Now use Coco or No. 5. Used to use Miss Dior, but it no longer smells so nice on me.

It's odd how when you age that certain perfumes no longer smell the same on you.

I remember I once tried Poison (Estee Lauder?) wore it to work and someone said it smelt like Wintergreen on me. Never wore it again.

Mum always loved Youth Dew, but that is one powerful perfume. Can be sensed at 1,000. yards!!!!! LOL

Sharron Report 5 Jul 2012 07:25

Do you like the smell of lemons as well? Lauder for Men smells like a lemon grove apparently.

I used to use it as a perfume when I worked in the factory. Likewise Tuscany which I absolutely love.I stopped using it when a distinctly funny woman at college started to talk to me about it and pheromones in the same conversation.

LollyWithSprinklez

LollyWithSprinklez Report 5 Jul 2012 07:03

Yes Liz

You have it ..Aqua Manda.

I wonder if those on eBay have retained their perfume after all this time?

I love the smell of Oranges and remember a suncream that had Bergamot which smelt divine. I will look out for Imprevu it sounds very much like what I am looking for.

Thanks for stopping me pulling my hair out :-D

This is another favourite of mine from my younger days:

Imprevu was launched in 1965 as an intense female perfume that ideally balances the chypre, wood and leather aromas. Absolutely "mature" and opulent, it opens with aldehydes and citruses like bergamot and bitter orange. The heart is composed of leather with traces of clove and floral notes, placed on a wooden base with oak moss.

It is available as perfume extract and EDP.
