Good morning :-)

If possible, start your day with a smile.

What did pirates call Noah's boat? "The arrrrrrk."

Always remember that Hell is un-cool.

If God is your co-pilot, switch seats.

Some people are like buttons, always “popping” off when they don’t need to.

Get connected; upload a prayer.

Swallowing your pride rarely leads to indigestion.

If you have time to worry, you have time to pray!

Hello all

I've had a laugh with the funny posts from Cynthia and from Vera too. Thank you both.

May I add my funny too?

I recently checked my body weight, and
Oh my! this armour of God is heavy.

Sending a gentle hug to all who are struggling x

As Christians, we need to learn that laughter is an expression of joy. Some funny Christian sayings will start your day with a smile.

Ketchup with Jesus and relish his love!

Some humans are funny. They think God is dead and Elvis is alive!

God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

God recycles. He made you from dust.

What did Adam say to Eve when handing her something to wear? "Take it or leaf it."

I may not be perfect, but Jesus thinks I’m to die for.

:-D :-D @ Vera. Good one! :-D

.........and there's more!!

Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, and the serpent didn’t have a leg to stand on.

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to the garage makes you a car.

Jesus said, “I’ll be back” way before Arnold did.

Our church is like fudge: sweet with a few nuts.

:-D :-D :-D :-D @ Cynthia.

It’s always good to start Monday with a smile. Of course, you know that Moses was the first person to download data from the cloud to a tablet :-)

Good morning :-)

If you think God doesn’t have a sense of humour, look at the platypus. The Bible mentions laughter over forty times.

As Christians, we need to learn that laughter is an expression of joy.

Some funny Christian sayings will start your day with a smile.

I want to be so full of Christ that if a mosquito bites me, he flies away singing, “There’s power in the blood.”

God teaches us about love by giving us difficult people to deal with.

God, help me to be the person my dog thinks I am.

Don’t give up! Moses was once a basket case!

Hello all

A Happy St George's Day to everyone today.

Heavenly Father

Help us to rejoice in the glorious victory of
St George and give us courage to follow the example of our Patron Saint.
Amen.

Cynthia, my view on volunteering for a job in church, usually means that you have it forever!

Vera, thank you for your kind words. x

Good morning :-)

A very happy St. George's Day to you all.

The Collect (special prayer) for today

Almighty Father,
who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples
with the sight of the risen Lord:
give us such knowledge of his presence with us,
that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life
and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The Gospel reading for today tells the story of the Road to Emmaus.

Lord, As I face a new day
Let me take your hope
Rising with the dawn.

As I face a new day
Let me feel your love
Dancing through the birdsong.

As I face a new day
Let me see your promises
Glittering through my day.

Lord, as I face a new day,
I turn my face to yours
That I may taste, feel and see you today.

The Collect (special prayer) for today.
Almighty Father,
you have given your only Son to die for our sins
and to rise again for our justification:
grant us so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness
that we may always serve you
in pureness of living and truth;
through the merits of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

An Easter Prayer

God, give us eyes to see
the beauty of the Spring,
And to behold Your majesty
in every living thing.

And may we see in lacy leaves
and every budding flower
The Hand that rules the universe
with gentleness and power.

And may this Easter grandeur
that Spring lavishly imparts
Awaken faded flowers of faith
Luing dormant in our hearts.

And give us ears to hear, dear God
the Springtime song of birds
With messages more meaningful
than man’s often empty words.

Telling harried human beings
who are lost in dark despair
‘Be like us and do not worry
for God has you in his care.’

Good morning :-)

I think we're singing that hymn on Sunday kandj :-D

After Easter

An interesting way of praying is by reading a bible passage and imagining that you are there at the time. One story which really lends itself to this is when, after the resurrection, Jesus appeared on the beach whilst the disciples were out fishing.

Think of the splashing of the waves, the cool breeze and the smell of the fish cooking, Imagine how you felt when you realise that the man by the flames is Jesus – whom you saw nailed to a cross just a few days ago.

In this story, we are reminded of the way we continually turn away from Jesus, forgetting his love and power as we are consumed with our jobs, families, possessions, and so much more, and yet he’s always there to call us back and forgive us and provide us with an abundance.

Hello All

Haven't heard of Bright Week, thank you.

Shine Jesus shine,
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze Spirit blaze,
Set our hearts on fire.
Flow river flow,
Fill the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your word Lord, and
Let there be light.

Bright thoughts to share with all who pop in.
