John, sorry but it's been mentioned before - do your homework before you post.
Admiral's Nett profit for H1 of 2012 was £171m (and you can deduct from that the £9.75m given to employees in shares).
Swansea City's £58m 'benefits the City', and the immediate surrounds, not the country.
NHS annual requirement in Wales in relation only to obesity and alcohol misuse is £140m.

What about everything else? Bit of a shortfall isn't there? Not going to make that up catching crabs in the Conway river, trips up Snowdon or sailing around various (lovely) islands.....

There's no heavy industry, no economically viable mineral mining/processing .. ai .. sheesh... :-S

According to Google, there is a Pontypandy. However most of the google references are to it being Fireman Sam's home village

Oooh our Rose got it in one :-D :-D :-D

Plus with the necessary rise in corporation tax, please don't ask me to explain that with the ratio of business running profitably in England as opposed to Wales :-(

Plus how many countries do you have to pay to enter via the main vehicle route? Errrrr hang on! ...............................................................*still thinking, I may be a while*

Plus you would have to fly into England and then travel by rail or road to get here, as Cardiff airport isn't really 'International'

I think your ideal would be independance for Pontypandy & you could be King John with 1,231 subjects & your pet Druid...should be enough money to keep you going? Not a whole Country!

When I was just a little Pod my dad knew all about money. He worked in socks and shares.
(It was his stocking trade so as to speak).

Toeby :-)

Maths for an independent Wales don't stack up?? What about all the wealth that Admiral are pumping into Cardiff? CEO says £700 million over last few years. New money that Swansea FC contributed to Welsh economy last year - £68 miliion. And money from the Celtic Manor resort in Newport area? Think the scales are beginning to balance nicely.

And the extra money going into Spar Pwllheli from posters here who are upset that me and my 1,231 close friends in Pontypandy (led by Fireman Sam, Bella Lasagne and Trevor Price) are not going up there again by chara just to do our sprouts shopping :-) :-)

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 3 Jan 2013 20:09

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 3 Jan 2013 19:46

That's it !!! I shall don special socks in my battle, and call on the RSPCS for assistance against SC ( film entitled 'A Typical Gory Weekend in Pontypandy' , featuring Fireman Sam and a host of extras supplied, with thanks, by local SPAR shops).

Brilliant, Toeby, thank you :-)

Ummm .... do the socks come in one-size fits all, perchance ? :-S

Seems like I`m not the only Sock Puppet on this thread.

My quest for World Sock Puppet Domination is beginning to gather momentum I think.

Of course Hayley, that's especially for the verbally challenged.

They can also be cut out and played with whilst making up your own little story ;-)

After that you can post it on GR :-D
