We are not very demanding of the doctors surgery and only ever use them when really necessary.

The surgey is in the next village(Sausagesandwichville) where Fred goes every week on the bus which gets in at about 12.20.

The surgery closes for the afternoon on a Wednesday and the last patient is usually seen by 11.30.

Fred needs to see the doctor,he doesn't want to but I have decided that he is going anyway,

The doctor has kindly offered to wait after his last patient until Fred can get there on the bus at 12.20 ish.

I suppose it does save him a house-call which I am sure we could demand but I rather hope he can see how important it is that Fred should still be in charge of as much of his own life as possible.

Isn't this what you live in a village for?

As it is his last patient, maybe they could go off and enjoy a sausage sandwich together, just Fred and his mates.
