I fell in the pit we emptied our lavvy bucket into twice. Each time I was wearing some new clothes and each time I was with my cousin.

This same cousin has never forgiven me for passing the eleven plus fifty years ago.

I can gas, arc and MIG but can't TIG.

I own a commercial torque wrench.

My eyes are a funny colour.

The revelation about Queen Victoria being your gt gt gt grandmother is quite common, I have found in my life. Or at least claims of that. Usually via Prince of Wales (Edward VII)

Have just been reading about the entrance of Princess Alexandra of Denmark and her 2 sisters through London Bridge station in 1862 (I think) in preparation for her marriage to a bronzed and fit young Prince of Wales. Well, that bronzed and fit young man was already paying off lovers at Trinity College, Cambridge and seemed to continue his lifelong hobby till his death in 1910. How many of us are first cousins 3 times removed of Susan with, I wonder. I worked with a girl in Cambridge about my age who claimed her gt grandmother had a fling with Bertie - and the photo of her gt grandmother more or less convinced me she was right. :-) She was a single mum never short of cash was her gt grandmother!!

I have one on my tree - Mme Augusta d'Este, daughter of Duke of Sussex. Her brother Augustus could easily have been King and perhaps Victoria would not even have had a look in, except as a minor royal. But Duke of Sussex married a "commoner".

Isn't family history interesting sometimes?

My Mum was a Geordie but didn't have a trace of accent left by the time I grew up.
My Grandfather was married 5 times 4 were bigamist.
I've flown to Australia and back 4 times on my own and to America once.
That didn't scare me but I'm scared of and won't drive on motorways here.
I use my Dads saying a lot when things don't go right. " it makes you want you throw the whole house up the chimney"
