My paternal gt. grandfather and his bro emigrated from Germany to England in the 1870's and were master cabinet-makers in North London. They made most of the furniture used by the Bloomsbury Group for the group's own artistic decoration.

My ma was an actress with ENSA and met my father in Italy during the war. They married there after 2 months of meeting and I was born the following year. They divorced 6 years later.

I am a 'qualified' gardener and love my garden and allotment (not a lot of people know that :-D )

I'm a bit of an introvert and happy in my own company.

I have several faults which irritate me, but I have finally come to the conclusion that they're in my genes and beyond my control :-( ;-) :-D
