We have a village lunch every month. It is in the church hall and one of our number cooks it so you have to take pot luck as to what you get and you are only paying £3.50 for two courses, coffee and a mint.

We generally cook it once a year so I know how much effort goes into it.

I am a vegetarian. It is my choice.

If I am paying £3.50 for a meal I really do not expect any special treatment, I would pay more than that for the sweet anywhere else.

One couple always make sausage casserole and I tell them that I am happy to bring a sandwich but they will always buy a packet of vege sausages and use them all to make me a huge casserole which I can't eat at that time of day anyway.

This month I took a flask of soup I had made from the veg that were hanging about in the rack and the bottom of the fridge.

I didn't get to eat it because somebody's idea of not making any special arrangements involved making me a quail's egg salad FGS!!!!!
