Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 8 Dec 2013 13:55

What a worry for his family .

OH insisted!!! he was OK to go to the bank so i ordered a cab for him with specific instructions to ring me when he out of the Bank and I would get another cab to bring him home.

We were waiting on one of those should be there after 2pm maintenance visits

Silly bugger decided he could walk home on a scorching afternoon and got so far and fell in an area that was very quiet with very few people who walked that way. Was on the ground for about 30 mins before a lovely lady found him and rang me

Ended up in hospital overnight and with a nasty gash on one elbow.

Apart from the worry i was annoyed with him too. its very exasperating when you think you have covered all eventualities to get worrying phone calls cos the silly bugger has done his own thing that was outside the box!

Alzheimer's affects family members too

I am so relieved about that

Those who keep stroke victims in bed are probably the wise ones. At least they know where they are.

We have never yet persuaded Fred to board a train and now I don't think we will try.

Boxcar Fred, it doesn' tbear thinking about!

Good to hear that he is safe. I hope that some kind person takes him to see his friend (either before or after the ear bashing).

Sharron, don't tell Fred about it, he has enough madcap ideas of his own ;-) ;-) ;-)

This is not a joke posting.

It says on the BBC news site that a man from Petersfield who, like Fred, uses a powered wheelchair and cannot speak properly (left side stroke like Fred?) has taken his charger and gone missing.

It seems he has a relative in hospital and has wanted to visit them.

He is about twenty years younger than Fred but still very vulnerable.

I do so hope he has been found and brought home for a good ear-bashing!
