Is it possible for a person who is not actually on Facebook to access someone's status/timeline?

No...I believe you need to sign in

I think not, as I think you have to join to look for anyone to see if they are on FB.

I suppose it might be possible if they were using a device that was already logged in
or were with friends who were already logged in.

Thank you Someone commented today regarding something I had posted on my FB. She says (repeatedly) that she is not on FB. I asked her how she could read my page as she was not my "friend ". She said she just typed my name in. I have checked my settings and I have "friends only"
