Many years ago I drew a six paneled drawing

Home ..how I wish I was free
School ...more like a jail
Boarding school ...even more of a jail
Then I got married now is that a jail
Sadly I got sent to jail, the worst yet

And then I learnt what freedom is all about ....the right to chose which jail.

Before anybody has a go at me I was 16/17 when I did it and I do not think my marriage is a jail. If anything it has freed me.
But it is loosely correct . Freedom is the right to choose what others may call chains are going to be yours

Issue a challenge to those who doubt the value of freedom.

On a Monday, I was arrested
On a Tuesday, I was locked up in jail
On a Wednesday, my trial was attested
On a Thursday, nobody would go my bail

Almost done, I'm almost done, almost done
And I ain't gonna bring them yellow women no pail

Take these stripes, stripes from around my shoulder
Take these chains, these chains from around my legs
Lord, these stripes, it sure don't worry me
But these chains, these chain's gonna kill me dead

Yes, I'm almost done, almost done, almost done
And I ain't gonna bring them yellow women no pail

On Friday, my baby went a-walking
On a Saturday, she locked me outa the door
On a Sunday, we were sitting down a-talking
On a Monday, she pawned all of my clothes

I have been in the slammer, involuntary guest of Saddam Hussein, it was interesting I guess. I sure learned that freedom is in the mind and nobody can take that away from you very easily.

So now you know why I admire cats and Doris Lessing.
