Also heard that Holland and Barrett are considering a sale .....

There are sales on everywhere over here... and there will be even more on Boxing Day when it seems like over half of NZ go shopping for cheaper presents.

I am not sure if I was a child, would like being told you can't have your presents till tomorrow when they will be half-price or whatever.

just in case you don't know Persie, DFS is a large furniture store selling sofas and chairs - in my opinion not good quality - they have sales all year round and have done so since they fist came on the scene - everything is half price, no deposit to pay, and you can pay over four years with no interest - by which time the goods will have probably collapsed - these sales all are "must end by such and such a date" and they never do

Daughter bought leather furniture from them it didn't last ! Seats sagged and the cream leather cracked all over the place . Was a bad buy that had to replaced 18months later

She said would never buy from them again

We have discounters like that too Ann, that's all they do all year around with their furniture and bedding.

There used to be a chap that owned a hi fi and TV type shop and the prices were quite high and the displays well presented and a few doors along was another similar shop but the prices were a lot cheaper and the stuff was not elegantly displayed at all.. He owned them both... he did well.

when I bought my suite it was from a shop a few doors away from DFS - at the front of this shop they had a DFS sofa so they could show you how badly made it was compared to theirs :-D

My problem is they won't deliver it to me! :-(
