Sylviain.

Many thanks for that. I shall adhere to the GR and privacy protocols and keep the tree private.

Regards

John

if I understand your last post correctly .....................

These people are still alive

Please remember that you should not be putting the names of living individuals on any tree that is in the public domain.

GR will replace the names with Living ............ so long as their system is working correctly.

Ancestry replaces the names of any people with a birth date of 100 years ago or less but no death date, with Living or Private

It is against the rules of privacy to so publish the names.

If it is your own tree, kept on your own computer, and never released to anyone, then everything is fine.

Nice simple solution.

I will double check that all parties are happy with this before I proceed any further

Whilst commercial tree programs such as FTM etc allow you to record multiple relationships, most free web based offerings don't extend that far.

Add the child to the parent you want to see him or her related to when you or others are viewing the tree and put a note to explain the secondary relationship.

No, not with GR or most online tree programmes.

The best thing would be to 'marry off' say the biological father to the adoptive mother, then add the biological mother as his partner ( or the other way round if you've started with the biological parents)

You could duplicate the child to be that of both sets of parents - they'd carry a different surname - and record the reason in the notes section

I would like to show the adoptive parents ( and family) and the real parents ( and family) for a person I have in my tree.

Basically that person would indicate having two sets of parents

Can anyone suggest a workround for this ?

Many thanks

John
