hi everybody hope you had a lovely christmas. my elderly uncle was sent to a childrens home/school in leicester between 1934-1936, his memory of the past he blocks alot but says he can remember a matron, gymnasium and he wore a uniform with a black and yellow tie. Leicester archives have unfortunately not been able to find out any information so i was wondering if anyone knew of such a place or has any information they could give me? i would greatly appreciate it. |

This shows the now sadly neglected Polebrook House, which was the Desford Boys School you mention. Might your uncle recognise it if he was there? |
