Find burial plot

Can anyone tell me how I can find out where a burial plot is please,I found out my wife's nan had died in portsmouth in 2006 but we can't find where she rests,,,please help

If you have the death certificate, it will give the area where she died.
ie Langstone, Southsea etc, which (as people tended to be buried in their local burial ground) will narrow your search.

Phone them Andrew, the number's prominent on the website. You could also contact the local council, cemetaries dept. You might need a date of death but do phone.

Have you googled her name followed by iannounce to see if there was an obituary for her?

It is possible that her death was announced in the local paper ...The News... and their family notices can be searched by name.

If there was a cremation,as stated, it is likely to have taken place at Portchester and the staff there are most helpful.
We were given a printout of the location where a friend's ashes were placed and a staff member escorted my daughter and I to the plot, when we first visited.

Portsmouth City Council could inform about burial plots if this is more likely.
